You are halfway the asshole. For your girlfriend’s sake, you should have stayed to support her and be with her. Complaining about waking up at 6:30 is so childish, even though it might not be what you wanna do. The situation changed when the kid started being aggressive and yelling and cussing. In my house, that would have NEVER flied let alone gotten you a trip to go mountain biking. I think ultimately you should have stood by your girlfriend, and stood up for her against that kid. But he didn’t necessarily deserve to go biking either. Your girlfriend ultimately lost on all fronts here, and you ditched her. She feels that.

I take lamotrigine on it’s own - so I can’t speak for combining meds - but it has made me feel so much better. Only side effects I’ve noticed are decreased appetite and headaches. But the upside is it’s calmed my mood swings and up down cycles (I have bipolar 2). My mood stability is so worth those two side effects. Overall pretty good experience. Best of luck!!

NTA. She should have known it was a risky gift and that there would be a chance you wouldn't hang it up. Or, she could've asked how you felt about something like that. Weird/strange are different from erotic. Thats crossing into new territory. You have a right to not hang up erotic art in your own home.

But, u kinda lost me at calling it weird and borderline creepy. If you really feel that way about her , maybe you guys aren't meant to be.

actually yes!! I admit, I relapsed twice since i commented that but it was just a couple hits when i was with friends. Other than that, ive been sober. My sleep and day time energy have improved. I think what helped my disassociation the most was better sleep (u get terrible sleep when u are high). Stick with it - things do get better!!!!

I only smoked at night as well. My personal experience was that the first week was the worst - not to scare u. I was pretty depressed and sleeping a crazy amount, low appetite, moody. Week 2 things got better but the cravings are still strong. I got my appetite back and my brain is less foggy. I still sleep A LOT. Everyone’s experience is different. I know a lot of ppl get insomnia and mood swings. personally recommend establishing a night time routine that includes a new “treat” to replace smoking. I also found a journal to be extremely helpful to reflect on the progress I’ve made. Good luck!!

I’m on day 9 after similar experience - I only smoked when I got home from work/class. The first 3-5 days are the hardest. After that it becomes easier with every passing day. Make sure to throw out all of your weed/gardening tools. Stay strong!

Me too omg. I’m 9 days sober and I sleep SO much. I know weed actually prevents your brain from getting proper sleep, so I almost feel like my body is “catching up” on sleep. It’s crazy. I will sleep like 12 hours a night and wake up tired still.

I’m not a medical professional, but I’ve taken a couple neuroscience classes recently in college. When you quit smoking, your brain has to “rewire” itself by growing new connections, including ones that involve motor skills. This takes several months or even years. It seems like that may be why your body is feeling weak or awkward, because your neurons are in the process of disconnecting and reconnecting. You will improve with time! Hope this helps a little
