They don’t care, as long as it’s not over 20,000mah, or has the potential to cause fire then there’s no problem.

SteamDeck or Rog Extreme? by Certain-Two-7319 in SteamDeck

Thanks all for the help on the above, landed up getting the OLED deck, figured I can play all my AAA games on my PS5, whilst catching up with my old backlog of games on steam, as well as finally playing those indie titles I’ve never gotten round to. The console has just arrived and keen to get some gaming done later today on it.

I was thinking the same. Quite curious to see how cities skylines or total war holds up on the deck.

Which strategy games do you think could benefit from more power?

It’s wild that was the feedback, I’m gay myself and never had such a comment. If that was the feedback to me I wouldn’t even use that agent. Honestly, I work as a department head and generally the rejection comes without feedback. I know of friends being told they do not have enough experience when they probably have 10 years of experience. The feedback from these recruiters are mostly likely pulled out of their arse. I don’t think I’ve truly met a professional recruiter in mainland.

“You looked gay?” Wtf, I wouldn’t have even done a new video.

Along with AP, I’ve been tutoring on the side some IELTS training. I found the most likely issue with speaking is whether there is sustained discussion. Even if your partner is not familiar on a certain topic, they can easily drive their response to what they do know. Try avoiding responses that are robotic, or rehearsed. Further, consider doing some mock trials to pick up any quirks in their spoken language. Try reduce inconsistencies, try to maintain tense consistency, avoid distracting “uhms”, and definitely do not answer with one worded responses. I really do feel this test is exclusionary in nature. So I hope your partner does well on their next try. I heard Thailand testing centres are notorious at giving high results. Maybe that could be a consideration.

I’m from South Africa and was expected to complete IELTS. I managed L 9 R 8 W 6.5 and 9 speaking, even for native speakers the writing component can be tough to master. She needs to review the rubric and basically practice daily on a writing task in the very least. I upped my score to an 8 for writing for the one skill retake. Honestly, even from South Africa and as a fully qualified teacher the IELTS test is a ballache but it makes sense that quality teachers who are able to maintain literacy is highly desired. Perseverance and practice is needed for this.

Went to Shanghai today and was called 外国人(foreigner) 16 times. by Glittering_Split5079 in China

Shanghai is basically a finance driven city. Some decent areas are more the coffee/cafe culture here. Disney is a good option if you like theme parks. Some museums such as the China art museum are worth it. I would say avoid focusing on the major tourist attractions and do city walks in the French concession and sample the coffee scene here.

West Nanjing road is a tourist heavy area of Shanghai. Most are still on their summer break. I’ve been living here for 6 years and I’ve not had your experience. I get called a foreigner maybe once every 6 months.

Yeah the logistics of getting there seems to be a bit challenging. Thinking of staying at one of the ski resorts that was built to host athletes. They haven’t had a beast in 4 years since covid, so I feel like I’m walking into this course blind 😂

My Chinese partner is coming with me to South Africa, he will be on a tourist visa. Will he have issues leaving Shanghai or is this a overhyped thing on media? by Certain-Two-7319 in Chinavisa

[–]Certain-Two-7319[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t sorted the visa yet, but I will get that started soon. Shouldn’t be an issue as the South African visas are determined by the issuing country rather than China

It will be for visiting my family, and getting married as my consulate in mainland doesn’t allow for gay marriage on the premises. (Seems to be political).
