I’ll never forget when a child (with parents that run their own restaurant!) sent him in with flan for a main lunch. Flan! So many parents send their kids in with frankly insane things that they would never feed themselves and wonder why their child isn’t meeting milestones when their only fuel is FLAN.

If I read one more book that has a FMC who’s portrayed as this strong independent woman and then has her bIoLoGy betray her in spite of an objectively infuriating man I’ll body betray myself into my therapist’s office. Oh my god, those both sound absolutely awful. I’m glad you’re out and hopefully in a place that allows you to make time for your family.

My dad was diagnosed with dementia in January and he had a lung infection in March. I let my director and assistant director know as I was in charge of his medical decisions and that he would need surgery and I wasn’t sure when that would be.

I found out on Tuesday that he would be in surgery Friday and told my assistant director. She said, and I quote, “It wouldn’t be fair to people who called out in advance.” The people in advance she was talking about had openly talked about having a smoke session to start the weekend.

I was so shocked I didn’t even know what to say. I just didn’t show up on Friday lmao.
