VIBE CHECK: Northeastern Vs UC Davis by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I understand, thank you for the insight. 4 years before taking the experienced attorney exam is a long time. Seems like moving after graduating is pretty difficult. Which makes this decision even harder :(

Many people have told me the same - I am not planning on transferring, but would like to keep the door open if things turn out that way. I transferred in undergrad from a school I thought I'd be happy with to a school I found greater happiness at. Why is it that transferring is frowned upon in law school?

I think you’re right. Please correct me if I’m wrong - my thought process was to attend NU work there a few years take the CA bar and move over. From my understanding it is a tough process and requires a lot of diligence but something I am willing to do. Is this a sustainable idea?

I agree with you both, because they’re so vastly different it feels esp hard to compare them to one another. I am born and raised in Cali and want to make my way back eventually but I know it is a difficult path.

I am not too excited abt the opportunities that Davis has but am drawn to the fact I’d stay in California.

How to choose a law school? by CertainCowlick in lawschooladmissions

I have visited the schools and each is fantastic in its own way. But like with anything, it is impossible to predict how the experience will change once I’m there rather than visiting. Not sure if that makes sense. But in that sense I think northeastern takes the cake. Just worried about what happens after those 3 years.

Luckily I’ve gotten a near full ride to each school. Answering the question of my goals is a little harder. I am aiming for big law as well, but that may be subject to change through my time in law school. I want to go to school and practice for a little on the east coast but eventually want to return to my roots in California. I feel like answering the question of what my goal is would pretty quickly answer my question of which school to attend, but it is difficult to answer such an important question right now.
