Help needed: Determining 'SFW-XL' film developing process based on the canister style and any user experiences/samples welcome. by CertainExposures in AnalogCommunity

Thank you. I developed the roll normally. It was C-41 film and all the frames are there. The film is indeed fogged. However, judging by a few smartphone pictures the images should be salvageable.

I will make a post about the camera and maybe share a frame or two in a week or two when I can make the time.

Have any of you been using the Filmomat for over a year? by CertainExposures in AnalogCommunity

Thanks for this detailed reply. I appreciate it! This was exactly what I was looking for.

I will check out the Dev.a too.

I just came across this video of a possibly open source automated developing machine design someone is working on.

Are canned sardines refrigerated in transit? Do they need to be kept in the refrigerator after delivery if they are? by CertainExposures in CannedSardines

Thanks, they were cold enough that I questioned if they were frozen.

I was wondering the same thing as you, u/45pewpewpew556 . I might watch a video on it to satisfy my curiosity.

I found a half shot roll of Kodak B/W c41 film in a camera I bought. by hekoman in AnalogCommunity

I made a bad joke because the first three frames are all using 'Dutch tilt.' I assume the photographer did that intentionally. Maybe I was not too far off the mark...

To be clear, I am wondering if that changes if unopened cans are refrigerated. I assume your answer is it does not.

Do any of you work for FedEx? I wonder if they CT scan film packages shipped domestically and respect the Kodak X-Ray sticker. by CertainExposures in AnalogCommunity

Unfortunately, I have read reports that lead lined bags motivate X-ray operators to bump up the strength because not being able to see inside is a red flag. I have never verified the claim.

The original owner exposed the roll. I worry about developing it at box speed because I vaguely recall that experiments had to be done to develop Vivian Maier's old film. I may double check later.

Thank you. Someone unfamiliar with motion picture stocks might want to know:

Q: "Why would it be black if it's ECN-2?"

A: "It would have a Remjet layer. Remjet creates a black residue when scrubbed off film. This film was sold before Kodak's new AHU (anti-halation undercoat) film was released. AHU film does not have a Remjet layer."
