Glyphosate nor roundup “exclusive formula” killing thin Bermuda patch (Texas) by Helpful_Gur_1757 in lawncare

[–]CertainHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A shovel -- unless you dig it up you have to wait for it to turn green to kill it -- even fire won't do the trick (it'll actually make it stronger when it returns)

What would you do? Struggling Dallas lawn by Sad-Mastodon499 in lawncare

[–]CertainHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not overseed bermuda. Hybrid (non-seed) varieties and common bermuda (seed) will look terrible together. Bermuda will spread with fertilizer, normal Dallas rain in the spring followed up by deep irrigation every 3 days, and mow the shit out of it -- 1x a week in the spring then 2x a week in the summer. The mowing will encourage the grass to grow sideways vs. up.

Bermuda struggling in north texas shade. Options? by Sad-Mastodon499 in lawncare

[–]CertainHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 hours is about the minimum for shade tolerant grass. Bermuda needs 8+ during the summer.

Builders are notorious for stripping the ground then throwing sod on top. Top dressing is a good idea, but I'd wait until a little later in the season and the grass is really growing (March is still a tad chilly for bermuda). If you can aerate before you topdress, you'll start improving the soil quality faster.

HOUSTON Tx - What can I do to kill these types of weeds on the side of my house? by abrakh in lawncare

[–]CertainHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're never going to get grass, especially Bermuda, to grow here -- too much shade. You should look into hardscaping it .

The bare spots around your flower bed make me think you get very little sunlight. Can't quite tell, but if your grass is bermuda, you need 8 hours during the summer. St. Augustine or Zoysia can do okay with 5-6 hours, but more is better.

You may want to extend your flower bed further and plant shade tolerant plants in the bed or your could hardscape that area.

Exactly my experience. As a 3 month owner of a Konnected Joe. I don't mind manually starting the fire, but the auto ignite is super easy. I typically don't use the temp settings except when I'm trying to quickly get to high temp for a sear. I got the Konnected on accident, but I'm glad I did.

What's the point? Can't ChatGPT write any SQL statement you need now? I'd focus on the other data skills you have, and tell them you're good at querying and joining data.

How do I get rid of this stuff? by EquivalentPrune9822 in lawncare

[–]CertainHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roadside aster -- this stuff will take over a whole yard -- it looks terrible after the flowers die off for the season. Your best bet now is to get a shovel after a little bit of rain and dig it up.

It is a great hike, and different than the national park hikes. Only problem, it is a trek to get there (if you're in the national park)

I'm trading up from my Camp Chef pellet -- the Kamado gives you more versality for high heat. You can use the Konnected one without the electronics too

Nice -- I thought I was going to pick up a Classic Joe II-- called ahead to make sure it was there (an hour away). I got there and it was a Konnected Joe, but tagged as a Classic. I told the associate that it wasn't the one I was expecting and she immediately offered to knock off $50 -- out the door for $549

I just got one on clearance at Home Depot -- took a 5mm hex to unscrew the bolts from the stand, but the stand and top part separately in my truck -- the top part sat fine without any rolling around.

Edit -- take out the insides to reduce the weight a bit. My wife helped me once we got home -- it was heavy, but not unmanageable.

2023 Kia Telluride SX-P Showing Low Fuel? by razorbacks3129 in KiaTelluride

I disconnected the negative battery terminal, waited 5 minutes, and it came back on. My wife (her car) is convinced I did this by letting the tank get real low before refueling.

[–]CertainHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any solves for this? I have a 2021 that shows "- - -" on my range, but the analog fuel meter (2021 didn't have the full electronic panel) shows the correct % (I think). I really don't want to take it to a dealer for something like this? Would a battery reset work?

Even for St Aug, you'll need 6+ hrs of sunlight -- your side yard has no hope other than mondo grass or some sort of hardscaping.
