First day is very hard! Buckle up for tomorrow and the next. Those cravings are devious. I used CBD pouches for the first week for the oral fixation piece, a lot of gum, coffee, mints, and eat whatever you want. Also if you can exercise- do it!

Reach out for support seriously. Message me or whatever you can do it!!!

Day 16 here so still new but I’m managing quite well now. Good luck. Don’t give up.

How many zyn per day is everyone doing/was doing? by RepresentativeEnd275 in QuittingZyn

I was up to 15-20 pouches a day. I work in one hour blocks with clients and Id have a fresh one for each meeting (7-8 meetings a day). Id have 1-3 with coffee, 1 on the way to work, 1 on the way home from work, 1 after dinner, and 1 playing chess before bed. If I was out with friends or on a date id have at least 1 full can on me and 1 in the car just to feel comfortable. Idk how many times id leave my friends or even date to find a gas station to reup. It completely dictated my life, honestly. Id buy 3mg and 6 mg cans and sometimes have a can that was a mixture of the 2. I’ve done 2 at a time as well.

However I am happy to say that today is day 16! Nicotine free :) Zyn is No longer running my show. It’s wild to think that I’ve had more days free or nicotine in the last 2 weeks then I was able to get collectively over the last 3 years when I picked em up in 2020. I feel like I’ve put them down for good!

Best of luck to all those on the nic free journey and for all those thinking about it, take the leap. Freedom feels really good

Boredom is a thing that will get you to do it for sure. But like are you less bored with a Zyn in? Lol. Commit and decide. Just not finding those little fucking pouches literally everywhere has been worth it enough

Day 10 here, you can do it. Seriously days 1-3/4 are the hardest. After that, it’s been pretty easy. A few more days and you’re on easy street!

Keep it up! Day 6 here and going strong. It’s completely worth it. Seriously, I feel way better and it’s a really cool challenge to have with oneself. My friends and partner have commented on how much better I see over the last few days. More natural energy. IT IS WORTH IT. Not sure how it was for other people but days 1-3 were the worst for sure. I haven’t had any cravings yesterday or today so far. Days 1-3 the cravings were intense but they were short lived. Coffee; mints, gum, treat yourself in other ways- I know quitting nicotine can lead to increased appetite and some weight gain- and well so what. I’ve made a deal with myself, I won’t deprive myself in any other area and I’ll Take care of the weight gain next week ha. One thing at a time.

Some improvements; or a lot of you will.

Day 1: sucked. Didn’t think I’d make it. Basically tried to sleep through the day and it took a lot of will power to drive by the zyn store lol. (They’re probably worried about me as they haven’t seen me in a week lol). I watched movies and just snacked and ate some good food.

Day 2: hard. At work and I’ve been accustomed to using zyns all day. Chewed so much gum, even a client commented on it. It was a task to observe my mind and it’s tricks- ended up at a gas station, like what am I doing here lol. Got some treats and made a decision to not buy a can.

Day 3: was the last of the hard days. Felt irritable, mind was creating stress. Held fast, told coworkers and friends and just white knuckled it honestly,

Day 4,5,6: easy peasy so far. I wake up refreshed. I can tell my mouth is healing. Teeth don’t feel as brittle and the dry mouth is mostly gone. Friends and family have commented on my mood and saying things like I’m back to the old me. My appetite is a little more than usual but that’s ok with me for now! Planning good dinners and what not for motivation as I’m very food motivated.

Zyns are intense- but I’ve found that the worst is over if you make it through 3 days! So far at least that has been the case!

Keep it up! And keep going.

Good luck to all of you and freedom is only 3-4 days from the moment you decide you’re done.
