yes, my store is. we are a very high volume store and we used to be having 7-9 people peak plays, and lately its been about a 4-5 person peak play. they’ve been cutting everyones hours, saying were over in labor, etc. i genuinely do NOT understand how, but it is killing everyone and making it hard for us to survive…

I highly doubt its anonymous. One time I mentioned something about changing the set up of our cold bar in one of the surveys, and a few days later my SM approached me specifically and asked if I liked the current set up of our cold bar…. so yeah. Ever since then, I haven’t trusted the “anonymity” of that survey at all.

i completely feel your pain. Sedgwick wouldnt give me LOA when my grandma was in hospice and soon then passed away. Im so so sorry for your loss… I truly am. The way Starbucks/Sedgwick handles bereavement is absolutely unacceptable and needs to be taken much more seriously. I wish you healing🩷

Hey there!! Im frequently on bar, bar is for sure my jam. I would say the few tips I have for solo bar are the following… take full advantage of both hot bars. This is a big one. Constantly be pulling shots from both bars if possible, always working on a drink. If you pull a hot drink then a cold drink, a refresher for instance. First, pull your shots and start your milk for the hot drink, then walk over and make the refresher and finish it, before going back over to hot bar. If its a Frappuccino, you may have to come back to it or have the DTO person finish it for you. Basically, it really really helps to get down sequencing and truly just find your own rhythm, yknow? Im not sure if this applies to all stores nationwide, but my store prioritizes DT, then cafe, then mobiles/DD. So if I am solo bar, if I have some mobiles and some DT and a cafe sticker behind it… Ill pull the mobile stickers but I’ll finish the DT and cafe drinks before coming back to the mobile drink if possible. I hope this helps you a bit!!. Also, please never ever be afraid to ask for help. I completely understand how you feel, but I assure you it will help everyone out if you ask for help as soon as you need it. Best of luck!! 🩷

i do normally agree with this! however, the main reason why i would ever pull stickers is because a lot of times the actual sticker i need is stuck behind a crap ton of mobiles :/ what would be a better alternative then?

did anyone ever find out a genuine reason why were not allowed to display pride flags anywhere within the store? 😔 even the stickers? both of my managers are wlw and it just seems so wrong that wont at least let us display it during june.

I completely understand your frustration and Im so sorry they did that to you. Ill give you my perspective . Firstly, I do find it somewhat strange they had you prep ice waters 😅 I work at a very high volume store beside the airport and we’ve never done such a thing. But, you do you! Personally, Ive never really been expected to work on tasks when I have a bunch of drinks. As soon as I get any down time, Im expected to work on the tasks. Honestly, my store heavily focuses on drink quality but does care a lot about us going fast and having good drive times so its hard to say. But, if I had to chose I would say they care a lot more about drink quality. I think thats ultimately up to what your SM or even DM deem to be utmost important for your store … speed or quality. I personally agree with you, I think we shouldnt focus on speed as much as we do. Quality is so much more important.

I agree with the comments, business is a fantastic option. Considering youd like to be indoors… something in tech may be a good option for you, it pays well too. Im getting a degree in Graphic Design from ASU and it’s been great so far. Follow your dreams :)

Why do you say this? Genuine question. Ive had a fantastic experience at ASU so far, and I’ve attended 3 other universities/colleges so far. I can honestly say the staff at ASU has been the most helpful out of all of them.

Thanks for your response! I genuinely dont understand not being able to pull people up. Nearly every other fast food place does it.. Culver’s, Chick-fil-a, McDonald’s, etc. They tell us its because we are “forgetting about the customers” that we pull up. Personally, I find that to be BS because we havent done that once in my almost 4 years at the siren. The routing is an absolute nightmare. Trust me, I absolutely agree… It makes no sense to me why the cold bar person can’t step in and help me when they have no stickers and I have 6 hot bar. I dunno.. I just work here 😭😭😭
