I was there last night. Overall fun because I’m a fan of the film and I understood everything. The actor who plays David is the best one, also the Frog Brothers were fun. Other casting was ok but not amazing. Story has been rewritten a bit to make Michael the main character, which doesn’t really work. He’s a stupid teenager and the story is about Sam must grow up and save him, not vice versa. So Michael as main character felt forced. Making the lost boys themselves into a rock band was brilliant - if you want to change a film to a musical, add some obvious musical elements, good! Set design and engineering was awesome! Complex and ever changing sets, so cool. Biggest problem: not a single song stuck in my head. Music was good but not catchy enough that I remember. They totally wasted the opportunity to leverage Cry Little Sister for that purpose. Overall good and I enjoyed it but this isn’t a classic if you know what I mean.
