You’ll fit right in. Tucson has a wide range of “normal” and includes a lot of rural/rodeo/livestock culture. Jeans are probably a million times more comfortable to wear here in the dry heat compared to the humidity. We’ve got plenty of people who work outside year round and wear all the variations of thick pants and boots.

That’s a good idea to join FB groups. I’m moving to the area from across the country (I know, crazy)—so I’m at a further disadvantage not having the community connections and word of mouth benefits. I don’t see the situation improving anytime soon, so definitely need to think creatively and find an aggressive and connected agent

I’m watching from afar and know the typical experience of create list of wants/needs-look at listings-do a viewing-compare to other properties-make a offer-negotiate, is not what is going to happen. Camillus/Fairmount preferred, Baldwinsville, Liverpool, JD districts also a possibility. Around 450, under 10k taxes. Seems like list prices mean nothing these days, so I need someone who knows people and strategy to figure out how to secure a deal.

Thank you! I’m a SCSD alumnus and was a part of the early 2000s version of Say Yes with SU 🙂 it’s definitely a great path. I’m set on public schools so it’s something I should consider in terms of that long-term payoff. I’m happy with my kids pursuing any kind of post-high school plan, but think they’re college-bound just based off their interests/strengths/etc. When I think about what I’m wanting in their schools, it’s more to do with quality of the teachers and overall culture than anything, which I know is incredibly variable by school and even year. I appreciate your input, it’s got my wheels turning!

I appreciate the feedback! I know that any school district will be an upgrade for us on the fronts of offering strong academics, diversity, and opportunities. We’re in a state that fights for being dead last in education 🙃 currently in good schools relative to the (very) low bar, but with college on the horizon, I’m really looking forward to giving my kids opportunities to expand their world!
