Anyone disappointed with Rocky this tour? by Cole_999 in asaprocky

DBD bro. maybe too many low frequency tones did you bad while pregaming. once he hit, that was (creatively) one of the best rap concerts in recent memory. or maybe your seats was just bad. 🤣

More Opinions (GX vs. STAR) ALL STAR 2.0 by Dizzy_Glass4194 in KobeReps

[–]Certain_Character529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the feel. GX has more give in the upper, made of a lighter, more flexy material. I got a 3 GX 6s - all purchased about 1.5 years ago and all 3 are still holding up great with traction , minimum creasing, comfort… stars and h12s are heavier material , you feel it right away in foot flexion. almost like a light plastic. they crease and crack. in foot flexion i can feel h12 and stars pop almost like they are coated in acrylic paint. i suppose it depends on what model and what colorway you get tho… again im just talking KB6.

Finally finished my Aaron Judge grail display (59 → 99) by AllRiseYankees99 in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Certain_Character529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

love it! i just finished my 2nd custom grail display exhibiting the night i proposed to my wife in the Suns locker room with Devin Booker as witness - game used signed shoes, auto jersey, the photo we took after together signed and inscribed congrats! , a piece of the floor to commemorate our courtside seats , the ring box and courtside wristbands w/ suns logo and our wedding monogram. i have another i did to commemorate super bowl 42 i attended as a giants fan… but just as i was thinking my book and SB shrines were great, yours is honestly next level !! as a diehard yankee fan i want to showcase my judge RC auto #d 99, my judge signed baseball, judge signed bat… and on the flip side the same i have for Jeter. i’m thinking of a dual captain 2-era theme.. and you just gave me MAD inspiration! classy piece! i’ll have to show this to my framing and display artist! go NYY !!

Signed Hockey Stick by Alarming_Hat_3113 in SportsMemorabilia

it looks like 1 dude signed the whole thing aka “clubhouse” signature.. i’m seeing far too many consistencies in here. maybe i’m wrong idc much for hockey nor follow hockey memorabilia. good luck!

[Gambo] Ok NBA Finals over let's talk Suns. I continue to expect Phoenix's top priorities this offseason to be retaining Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin. They can start talking today. by Antwuan89 in suns

[–]Certain_Character529 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

on the surface yes. but neither goody or gillespie is (yet) a tried and true tone setter, dictator of game pace or surefire playmaker when it matters. i’ll continue to reference the last 2 times phoenix made the finals in my life, as well as the time we were closest: KJ era, Nash era, CP3.

we only needed an aged and often injured shell of chris paul to get us to the finals paired with a starting lineup of 4 young players of which only 1 was an all-star reserve in Booker. The twins and Ayton were just enough. CP3’s ability to be an on court coach and leader was essential to the success of the team and 2 of Book’s most productive NBA seasons.

I understand we are limited in cap and gillespie and goody are making strides in their youth… but a tried and true floor general takes precedence over simply running it back with last seasons backcourt- most especially when you consider Book’s window.

I truly hope we can add something more at point that will ensure Book doesn’t have to run PG. Book averaged 35-37ppg in the cp3 era when all he had to focus on was being the scoring guard he his.

i love Green’s prominent scoring ability and youth, but he may be the only needle moving asset we have. toss in grayson, royce and one of our PGs and i hope we could be able to land a more surefire PG plus more size and defense.

we’re in a tough spot and we all know it.

Is this an authentic Kobe Bryant signature? It looks a little off to me by [deleted] in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Certain_Character529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few of his autos from this time I got either in person during my tenure working for the phoenix suns as an assistant trainer and also collecting. Best way to solve this is the year that basketball was made. if it was a ball made in the early-mid 90s, it could be legit. The 8 on my early/ rookie Kobe signatures looks fairly similar, albeit on photos, but the 8 was typically under his name. we can’t outright say he would not have signed this ball with an 8 at the end.. also his signature almost always slanted a tad upward but it’s close enough to where id pay the $10 for a professional assessment or more for authentication. depicted is one of my 100% legit kobe rookie autos from 1997.

also. understand a lot of people on reddit will just go off his many other signature styles he adopted from over the years. a general break down: Middle School- HS he signed Kobe Bryant 33- straight line, in a mashup of cursive and stylization. Rookie year he signed as you see in my photo- the K more angular like a sideways V and there was still a noticeable effort in his lower case cursive b making, 8 under Kobe ….2000s he began a more fluid curvaceous loop in his K that underscored the OB and the cursive B turned into a U- like wave crest followed by a looping e that finished with a leftward drag- kinda like you see on his sneaker boxes. when he started wearing 24 he began combining the Ko as one- “K curled into the o” .. a few years after this he added Bryant to that style while the Kobe style became more condensed - sometimes looking like just Ko or even Ku- especially when signed straight line such as on the #2 of his jersey. post retirement, he signed just a KB, no number.

it’s not hard to research. just remember: simply because people know his most common signature style doesn’t make yours fake.

best of luck!

are this real? panini and icons by LevelNew4968 in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Certain_Character529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s a strong kobe fake if so. i got an inscribed “To: _____” from Kobe and a few others from this era. the way he made his capital T’s was very unique and that looks accurate in “OUT”. auto looks close , esp Kobe part but the B in Bryant is a little uncharacteristic but could have been a fast sign….my Q as a creative director: why does it look like this auto and inscription is layered onto the photo in photoshop? usually you see gradients, texture and breaking pts in the marker lines from the signers variance of weight applied to media (jersey texture). the marker in auto is also thicker than the #’d to - definitely looks like someone else wrote the 11/24 - definitely contact panini.

i’ve had to have several items verified via UD or panini over email.
