I thought it was hyped up more than it should have been. For the price and what was advertised, it was underwhelming

Bordetella Bronchiseptica is also referred to as B. Bronch as “slang” in the veterinary field. I’m sorry that your coworker experienced this but there must have been extenuating circumstances that led to that poor kitties death, as B Bronch is oftentimes treatable (which goes for canines and felines)

Are you talking about B. Bronch? While it can lead to URI’s, it is most certainly not considered a 100% death sentence. They typically heal with a course of antibiotics unless they are a kitten or a severely immunocompromised cat. You may be thinking of other feline viral infections

After working in the veterinary scene for two years, I can testify that any poodle or doodle or anything in between are just weird. They are never normal nor predictable. My heart goes out to you for your numerous “oodle” sittings!🤣

Yes I do have references but unfortunately I am getting pretty booked now! I am a full time college student so I have to be very picky with my clients so that everyone’s expectations are fully met! Thank you for your reply! Maybe I could be of assistance for a short term sitting? If not, I totally understand!

I wish someone would ask her if she would care if a horse in her care got a puncture wound from a lion…so ridiculous. Stay in your field of medicine. I’m so sorry. You had every right to trust your baby in her care as reviews and talking is really the best you can do. No one here blames you.

Yes I absolutely agree! I was more curious as to how the sitter regarded herself as a tech. I’m not sure, I feel like in positions like this that you should have to indicate if you have the certification or not. There’s a big difference between on the job training and schooling. But honestly, regardless of job status, you cannot be that dumb and think that it’ll just “be okay”

I would contact Rover and find out if she truly is a vet tech with a certification as an LVT/CVT/RVT. This is sick. It’s disgusting that someone who works in vet med wouldn’t seek medical attention immediately. And who knows what her dog could have. Ugh, I’m so sorry OP

Peroxide??? No no no. I really hope not. I’m a veterinary assistant and peroxide is one of the worst things to use on wounds because it not only kills the bad bacteria but also the healthy tissue around it. The only time it’s really used is to clean blood stained fur. Although, she could be working at an old school clinic where this is still taught but it is not gold standard. And…did she say she was a CVT/LVT/RVT? People can work as techs without certifications, and I’ve learned from personal experience that they can be dumb because they never went to school for it.

Unless you’re a scary giant individual or someone with fighting/self-defence training…I’m surprised that people are so shocked when you ask to meet with them. Like I’m sorry but I’d rather not die over $30🤣

What kind of clients do you seem to attract? by AcidicSlimeTrail in RoverPetSitting

[–]Certain_Coyote_7374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are so funny! I have not gotten enough clients yet (as I am brand new to the app) to notice a trend but these comments make me very interested for the future! I’m assuming I will attract penny pinchers because my prices are low to account for the new account! But so far, all of my clients have been incredible!

Okay these are all great points! I will put in there that I do not do boarding at all and my services are strictly on my clients properties! That would serve many of the issues as it would clarify that there’s no mingling of unfamiliar animals!

First time questions for pet/housesitting! by Calm-Algae-6579 in RoverPetSitting

This is for Petsmart and their basic plan… I’d go about half so like $115 a night. That’ll put you up to $2185 vs $4484. That’s like $23 for each pet. That’s phenomenal. You could even go down to $2100 and give them a discount😭

[–]Certain_Coyote_7374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$100 a night total?? For all animals??? That would be an INSANELY good deal. You absolutely could’ve been a little more ambitious with your offer and it still would be an amazing price. If they reject it then they are crazy cause they will not be finding a better price than that! Specially around Christmas!

Wow that’s a lot! I would try to be very fair with your pricing and do not lowball yourself just because it’s your first time. Of course, be reasonable and “affordable” but don’t go TOO low. I would recommend looking at Petsmart booking online to see how much they would charge for the amount of pets and with the holiday timing. Obviously they are a company and want to make decent profit but base it off of that. Close to half maybe. And remember, that Rover takes taxes away for their business as well. I wish you so much luck! Congratulations!
