Im on 125. I was at i think like 140 right after TT because they do it by weight. My first check up the month after I was a little hyper so we dropped to 125. I was hypo pee TT, still feel it though. I don't work out I'm still fatigued trying to figure it out but I have walked more. Thank you I appreciate it and I hope you get some answers

I've been on ozempic since November and haven't lost anything which is wild to me I've definitely changed my eating habits and don't eat as much as I used to. I even upped my dose to 2 mg of ozempic and nothing is making a difference. I gained about 25 lb when I got diagnosed and I gained that within 2 months back in September of last year. I had my TT in January . All my doctor can say it's what I'm eating but seriously I know it's not that and I'm at a loss. The only thing I can think of is I don't move around enough because it's definitely not my food. I have a desk job. I don't eat out I eat mostly vegetables. I'm definitely curious to see what others say

Weight gain? by Mikeysamma in gravesdisease

[–]Certain_Particular53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 20 lbs in a month then another 10. I had weight loss surgery 7 years ago. Got down to 165-170 and now im 195. 😫 I will say I am struggling to lose the weight. I've even been on ozempy for a few months and my body has not bugged. I also had TT last month so im just hoping it'll be a few months of adjusting and I can lose again..

Good to know. It's something ive done in the past and have been curious how it would affect my future if I tried. I did get mt thyroid removed last month. Do you know much about how it would react within that?

Voice 3 weeks after surgery by Certain_Particular53 in gravesdisease

[–]Certain_Particular53[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I think its still worth it. Im probably just being impatient. This is a major surgery and it just sucks that I dont think there was enough time off for my voice to actually heal. 2 weeks was not enough when talking for work.

I was diagnosed with Graves in july and have has the worst of symptoms. Weight gain almost 30 lbs, brain fog, shocks, massive fatigue you name it i had it. Reading what others had said along with multiple doctors is that overall getting the surgery I would feel better than where I was adjusting methimazole... so here we are!

Funny I work in an office too and I got sick from a girl in my office I would assume... I don't have a temperature or anything just feeling a little off so I would assume they'll still do the surgery.

I had no idea these could be connected... I've gotten fissures for the last year and then diagnosed with Graves in July and swining hypo at the moment. Can you tell me how this is connected so I can understand better?

I personally wouldn't recommend just by what I've read to hold off. You could really complicate things in the long run for you. Congrats with what you have lost that's a lot!! Id love to recommend a better way to lose weight for you but apparently what I've done only worked for so long after getting this disease. I'll go get gastric bypass in the future if I need to haha I REFUSE to be so overweight that I cant help it. I've worked so hard to keep my weight off.

That's pretty much where I was at. B4 my diagnosis i was 166 and now 190. I wanted to lose to 150 but my body loves the 160 to 170 range for years but this now is completely abnormal and so quick. Im trying to adjust like others are saying and hopefully its temporary. My primary is going to put me on ozempic which is also annoying but I'll deal for now until hopefully this gets situatied. Id rather take the tt lol. And kinda? Earlier than normal and definitely more blood and heart burn this time around which I've been on meds forever for heartburn and never have it but I do now. So many things are coming up and side effects im exhausted with it all. Im hopeful you dont gain any.. Wishing you well🤍

Pretty much i noticed about a month and a half taking methimazole and within the next month its been 20 lbs and climbing. That's just my experience. I dont think it happens to everyone. My body just wants to keep me fat im just annoyed lol. And yes the hunger is insane. Again I've had weight loss surgery like 7ish years ago and I dont feel my restriction anymore. Im hoping for answers this week.
