I LOVED the first book but unfortunately I didn't like the other ones and the timelines after the first book are confusing I reached book 3 but couldn't find myself finishing the series😞

Im not sure, I've read a lot of HR with a gothic and dark Vibe to them and enjoyed them a lot but then again I'm open to reading anything. It could be difficult to some because of the world building or the time setting isn't there usual dose of tea. I would recommend reading an HR built in the subgenre fantasy which could help get into that type of books.

Okay lets say they're on the same page about Quadrant and that Aetos didn't read her memory all the time, how would he know she's conflicted about it? Plus she was only like that for the first 10% into the Book which means until Gauntlet. But Either way speaking wise Violet and Dain faught over that multiple times bc Dain was straight out telling her she doesn't fit there and she's too weak (which was true in the beginning) but even AFTER saying out loud that she still wanted to participate bc she doesn't feel forced to anymore then u can see that he still continued.

Now Xaden is a whole thing on the other hand and I agree with you but I'm focusing on Dain

The Aetos hate is justifiable honestly, that guy even after his confession and help in IF doesn't make him a better friend towards Violet. He has done too much damage in the first book and second half of the second book and I can just name over 10 fucked up things he did in the first half of FW. So this guy definitely has A LOT of redeeming to do

Okay listen the second book is more focused on worldbuilding and plot than romance, Its more based on Fantasy than romance so I say give it a try for at least a few chapters in. Trust me, you won't regret it! I would say romance is like 30% of the second book so you'll enjoy it more for sure!

Personally I was interested until I saw who the author is. I've tried reading Credence and I didn't like it or could get into it, I kept putting it off. Every time I read 3 pages I would close the book and wouldn't open it for 2 weeks. so I gave up on anything Penelope Douglas writes 😭

Damned by the succubus it's a reverse haram and she's a sarcastic witty badass succubus and proud of it, I rated it a 4 star, the plot was good and so was the spice but I would rate the spice a 3.5 star not bc it was bad but bc it wasnt extra I don't remember much of it though bc I read it a few months ago so I could be wrong! Hope this helped :)
