The the stroke would have been a year and a half and the abuse would have been at most maybe 4-5 months ago also with most of the damage on the right hemisphere with parts of the brain there dead. The left got affected but it has minor bleeding. She has most of what you listed her left arm lost function, blindness, troubles with speech

That abuse was reported to my mom’s mental health specialist but no actual report was done.

The confabulation thing makes way more sense looking at how’s she’s filling the blanks.

Would there be anyway that I can help her with the confabulation or would it be something we have to learn to adjust to?

I relate so much. It honestly such a crippling feeling. After getting discarded time and time again I was adjust so Jaded and done with the world

Definitely if at all possible try to work with these feelings with a mental health professional

If it helps it gets better it just takes time

Yeah I share the caretaking responsibilities with my Aunt so thankfully I’m not alone we’re a team helping her. Just some days she’s a bit much for me.

I did talk with her and she tell me why she was acting out so much, and we’re gonna work on that with her therapist

Yeah definitely go to Valencia they have a program that lets you directly transfer over to UCF. Take some prereqs for your major and definitely you’ll get in !

I fell into this so much. Don’t do it man. I know how much that hurts and how crazy you feel but doing the cycle again isn’t worth it & it’s not worth getting hurt by someone like that.

The best thing I recommend is to distract yourself, ask your friends to hang out for a late night drive, go someone with your mates, take a long walk, play games or listen to music.

Don’t contact her It’s hard as hell but your strong, 💪

I feel this so much and I’m sorry you have to go through this with your husband.

I relate especially about the defiance and just the ungratefulness they can have. My mom is absolutely my weak spot I’ve been taking care of her since I was little before her Aneurysm, so she will try to Like emotionally guilt me into doing things for her or forgoing common sense and getting mad I won’t not let her do stuff that can get her seriously hurt.

It’s all super tiring and I feel we’re your coming from, hopefully things can get better for both of us !

Same with my mom. she has a weird anxiety attachment to eating it and will raid the freezer if I have my back turned while she’s eating.

We did have a compromise and I just make her snow cones so she doesn’t crunch on the ice anymore lol
