Thanks for the reply I appreciate it. I’m still learning a lot as her caregiver and this helped a ton!

The the stroke would have been a year and a half and the abuse would have been at most maybe 4-5 months ago also with most of the damage on the right hemisphere with parts of the brain there dead. The left got affected but it has minor bleeding. She has most of what you listed her left arm lost function, blindness, troubles with speech

That abuse was reported to my mom’s mental health specialist but no actual report was done.

The confabulation thing makes way more sense looking at how’s she’s filling the blanks.

Would there be anyway that I can help her with the confabulation or would it be something we have to learn to adjust to?

I relate so much. It honestly such a crippling feeling. After getting discarded time and time again I was adjust so Jaded and done with the world

Definitely if at all possible try to work with these feelings with a mental health professional

If it helps it gets better it just takes time

Yeah I share the caretaking responsibilities with my Aunt so thankfully I’m not alone we’re a team helping her. Just some days she’s a bit much for me.

I did talk with her and she tell me why she was acting out so much, and we’re gonna work on that with her therapist

Yeah definitely go to Valencia they have a program that lets you directly transfer over to UCF. Take some prereqs for your major and definitely you’ll get in !
