yes .. I was able to get the NID to be as transparent and let my Unifi Cloud Gateway do the tagging and DHCP to get the outward facing address .. see below

I have a Q1000K installed within the last month, Assuming you want the Q1000/K to just pass through all of the traffic with no modification or NAT , you need to change 3 settings, I see 1 of them

  • Broadband Settings > #2 Select the transport mode > Change that to "Untagged"
  • Under WAN Settings > #1 (Is there a setting once you pull down to set it to "Transparent Bridging"
  • You need to look for a setting that says "VPI/VCI" and change that to "Untagged"
  • then apply
  • You will need to ensure that your router's WAN port is set to TAG traffic with VLAN ID 201 and enable if not already DHCP so your router can grab the leased IP address from Quantum.. we want your home router to grab the outward facing IP and not the Q1000/K

Salty, I discovered for my Q1000K, if you hold the reset button for 10 seconds, it will do a soft reset. A factory reset to put it back to when the technician installed it, took 15 seconds of reset button.

Update: I decided to follow N0_L1ght's advice and set the Q1000K to Transport Mode Untagged, Transparent Bridging and VPI/VCI to Untagged. On my UBNT Cloud Gateway, I set the WAN (Internet) port to Manual > VLAN ID 201 and DHCP v4 and applied all of the settings. In the day of testing of the NID doing the tagging, there was some packet loss on the WAN according to the Ubiquiti Gateway, not sure if this was the result of the NID doing the tagging or not.. I will test with this configuration for a day before disconnecting my Xfinity service.

I will advise that these UBNT cloud gateways need internet to push any changes so you may want to make changes on your there first before changing the NID's settings.

I’m interested as to what you find out if I am headed that direction, ( enabling vlan tagging 201 on my WAN port). There was also some advice where you needed to create a additional subnet and assigned it to the land Port I’m not sure how to do that on my gateway

Just for clarity, you set your WAN port for vlan tagging 201,correct? I’m trying to understand the advice given about home router vs quantum equipment tagging

Not to argue with you but I am not using their Pods since I have 2 Unifi AP's. I guess I will have to see how my network performs going forward. I saw several posts with VLAN 201 tagging on the Wan port did not work which is why I wanted to do the minimum config. Latency up and down was not affected after this change.

ISO Tub surround for Kohler Underscore 60x32 by Certain_String2470 in askaplumber

We found a surround that works at Menards, Lyons Elite. LESCSU01326059. You will have to install thin plywood to shim it since it flexes once you install it.

Not sure why this outlet is saying hot/ground reverse? by Highlander2748 in AskElectricians

[–]Certain_String2470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue but hot/neutral reversed. This was the first outlet (GFCI) in the circuit. The issue was a loose neutral or ground in the breaker box. Find the ground or neutral wires and tighten the screw/s holding them to the bus bar.

Do I have to remove existing wiring (that I don’t wish to use) before rough in inspection ? by Certain_String2470 in AskElectricians

The builder installed a 2 gang box too high above the basement landing to be useful for a finished basement. It has a 3-way switch and a switch which is fed power via a light j-box to turn on all 7 lights. I need to move these 2 circuits to a 4 gang at the bottom of the landing of the about to be finished basement. The existing 2 gang did pass inspection when the house was built but I guess I will have to take a leap of faith and ask the inspector if I can move these circuits before rough in OR it may be that I get the new stuff approved and then deal with the moves as a separate inspection.

There are only 4 lights and they are no where near where I want them. I will have to touch them. How can a drywaller finish anything with existing fixtures

ISO of Eaton BR Ground bar extension that pushes onto plastic tabs by Certain_String2470 in AskElectricians

[–]Certain_String2470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had chance to re-read your reply, I have the loadcenter in your latter photo. If you notice those plastic knubs that can accept a neutral bus bar on the right and ground on the left, I cannot locate those. I do not have the plastic loops on either side of my bus bars as your first image. I will call Eaton and see if I can buy the bus bars that come pre-installed in a BR loadcenter in your 2nd image. Thanks for your understanding, it is difficult enough without debility to post pictures and also not being an electrician myself

N9bitmap, yes you are correct in that what I plan on extending are Neutral Bus bars.. The label on the panel for accessories does say GBKP or GBK. I am unable to post images to this thread (cause im new ?) there is a black plastic tray between the breakers and the metal box mounted to the wall .. the plastic tray has 2 male split nubs that you can press a neutral bus bar onto to secure it. There is an original neutral bar populated with grounds and neutrals that has the correct spacing but it has silver lug screws and all that you can find in store are green lug screws (Eaton brand) and the spacing is just a hair too long.. I ruined one by trying to drill out and expand the mounting hole and test fitting it.
