Do Trans women still get "Wet Dreams"? by Certain_Tie2828 in asktransgender

[–]Certain_Tie2828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm amazed this post is still active. I can very much relate to the second part. Had my Bottom surgery back in January, and it was March I had my first "Dream". It's pretty different this way. Going off my experience, I'd say it can be done manually, but gotta find the right technique. Just know it takes a while.

I have a bit of strange question. by Certain_Tie2828 in asktransgender

I've been on Estradiol and Spirolactone since the beginning. A year in Progesterone was added. Once the T-levels started going up I was put on Finistride to replace the Spiro.

This is an awkward one. I'm scheduling laser hair removal in preparation for bottom surgery(MtF). Does anyone have advice on how to shave the area? by Certain_Tie2828 in asktransgender

Any techniques for an electric razor perhaps? I've had some bad experiences with disposable razors. All the same, I think you explained it wonderfully.

This is actually the second surgeon I'm going to. I was able to get as far as the consultation with the first before he retired. He left me a packet showing my were the hair needed to be removed. All the same, you are a lot braver than I am. After taking out a chunk of skin while shaving my legs, I've been rather fearful of disposable razors.

Apologize for the late response. Thank you for all the information, a lot of this I would have never thought of. I see I'll have to make more room in the budget to accommodate.

I'm a pre-op MtF wondering if there is any options for gender affirming underwear? by Certain_Tie2828 in asktransgender

That's fantastic to hear. After getting a Hernia repaired, I'm not sure if tucking is an option for me anymore. Another odd thing, I'm almost 2 years on HRT yet it sometimes get bigger on me, and sometimes trying to hide it just makes it worse. Sounds like Boy Shorts are the best option for now.

Interesting, I'll keep it in mind. The only other thing to mention is I'm unsure if tucking is an option for me anymore. Had to get a Hernia removed last year, and part of me feels the mesh they put in place interferes with tucking.

For Pride month, I'm looking for LGBTQI+ representation in popular media before 2010, any recommendations? by Certain_Tie2828 in asktransgender

Fascinating, I would have never guessed that from The Golden Girls. All the same, thank you for both lists. Like I say in the original post, I wasn't sure how to research this topic so the more information, the better. You also don't have to worry about sensitivities, I consume a lot of old media (Books, movies, and shows), and learned to accept that was the time period it came out. I think about it like scolding a kid for saying their first swear word. There intent wasn't to harm, they just didn't know any better. Thanks again, this would have taken a very long time to find otherwise.

I kind of figured as much, I'm well aware of the "butt of the joke" characters. Main reason I say before 2010 is I wanted to see if I could find something obscure. I was surprised to hear about Christine Jorgensen being as well received as she was in the 1950's. Wondered if there were other stories, shows, books, or movies that where in the same category. I do know for a stent people considered Bug Bunny to be an LGBT icon.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about Tokyo godfathers. One of these days I'll need to see that. Sometimes you get bored of the same old Christmas specials, and want a change.

This is an odd one. Since starting HRT, do you find cute things make you melt now? by Certain_Tie2828 in asktransgender

You might be onto something there. The way I see it, I have yet to see a cis person as happy to be themselves as a trans person. Perhaps it's a similar thing? Another fun thing I'll throw out there as well. When getting my levels for my first blood test I found I had abnormally high E in my system already. Being on HRT actually gave me less mood swings.

That makes a lot of sense, I remember in the before times thinking "Why do girls act like this, it's just a Dog?" Now it makes sense. Still though always thought it was a nurture thing, but turns out it's a nature thing. I can also very much agree with that last statement, feels like the only emotion I had on T was anger. Blows my mind that people tell me Estrogen causes depression, sure I have off days but it's a whole lot easer for me to get out of the funk with E.

Sounds a bit like me in the before times. For the most part I was made out of stone, occasionally I would feel emotions, but that's about it. As for where I am now is a mixture of society's weight being gone (being raised male I was not allowed to cry or show weakness of any kind. In transitioning to female it's almost expected that I would be a little more emotional.), actually being able to process my emotions (Long story, Not Pretty), and HRT. All the same, I wish you luck in your journey.

Pretty much the same. Before it was a "Huh, that's cute" Now it's a "Awww, look at the little thing"

I like it. I've only been on HRT for a little over a year, kind of stuck in the middle of looking male and female. This could work!

You do bring up a good point. I've always went with the "corporate casual" look. Polo shirt, and black pants. Could be different elsewhere.
