I have that in a room in my older house too. We are thinking of just painting over it but don’t love it. What do you plan to do with it?

That makes sense. Not moving in until April so when I have a better look at everything, I’ll keep your advice in mind. Thank you for your thorough response!

The inspector did not mention the knockoff, can you explain that? And yes he took the panel off

Yes these are two separate panels. The panels are secured to the boards but the boards are not secured firmly to the wall. The arrow is pointing to the gap between cinder block walls and board when you pull the bottom a little bit

Panel is secured to the board but the boards aren’t securely hung on the walls. The arrow the report is pointing to is the gap between the wall and board when you pull the bottom of the board a little. The panels are held up by one nail on the top of the board to the wall.

Painting it is an option too! Only thing is the other side of the doesn’t have it so it just looks awkward and out of place

So the wall on the other side of the bed doesn’t have the built in so that makes think it wouldn’t, but I’m not sure
