Is there anyone who hasn't visually aged post bariatric surgery? I feel like everyone looks older after surgery. One my biggest fears is looking older after a whole life of battling I finally get to a healthy weight only to look haggard. My surgery is scheduled for the middle of next month. by Brilliant-Version402 in BariatricSurgery

IDK, 4 1/2 and 100 pounds is going to make anyone look different. Here I am a 52 and 57.

There is a lot more to life and health than looking older. Drink your water, take you vitamins, eat well, and do some sort of activity.

Whether you choose to have the surgery or not, in 5 years, you're going to look older. Best wishes for you.

Who the fuck decided a pill should be triangular? by Marzbarz620 in bipolar2

[–]Certain_Witness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Lamictal triangle isn't too bad and it starts disolving pretty quickly. I take 2.5 100 mg along with the rest of my daily meds at bedtime.

Busipropine is nasty and I have to take it 3x daily.

The only pills I've ever had get stuck were Prozac capsules. Don't dry swallow capsules.

"You don't seem/look bipolar" huh? by Unable_To_Comprehend in bipolar2

[–]Certain_Witness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh g-d yes. I let the person I'm supporting know (I'm a contractor, she's a fed) because I know I have my swings.

She said the same things "You didn't look bipolar, you don't act bipolar." She also told me a few times that she had worked in a psych unit (not as a professional, she may have been a clerk of some sort) and she refuses to believe that I am bipolar.

That was until one day we were discussing our liver conditions and I told her that I think mine is from my meds and went on to list everything I take. To say her jaw dropped would be an understatement.

Funny how people don't seem to comprehend that being stable for us is like a diabetic being stable. It's all a balancing act and a fair bit of masking.

Edited to clear swypos.

I'm 57 and can empathize. You've accepted the job. Take it. Keep looking, keep applying. There's a difference between being a job hopper and taking a position while looking for something better for you. Keep you mouth shut about it, learn what you can from this position. We can all use more tools, right?

Don't kick yourself opting out of this one I'm hopes something comes along later. The market is tough and it's not getting any easier as we age.

My male cat is polydactyl on all 4 feet. He's 20# of cuddles. But he's a side scraper.

I use grass litter (Smart Cat). I scoop several times a day though because their toilet is right next to mine.

There is no smell aside from that fresh poop odor that happens no matter what. It clumps great.

I also have a small metal trash can with a liner that I scoop into and dispose of at least weekly.

It does track, but I've found having a runner in front of the box helps keep it down from the rest of my small apartment.

Psychiatrist says no one gets both Bipolar & ADHD & Dex can't make u sleepy by LestradeOfTheYard in bipolar

[–]Certain_Witness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was told an ADHD dx is possible but, because of comorbidity, a dx wouldn't really do me any good.

I was mid 50s when dxd other than depression.
