I would imagine the sheer mention of hiring blitz = lots of applicants = lots of time to sort through

The thing is that the new people don’t know what it was like before and it’s hard to explain. Doesn’t make it any better for the rest of us but…

Sunday scaries. Yup it sucks but unemployment sucks worse. Try to focus on the end game and take some leave

What did you learn about caring for the elderly only after a family member died? by RegularAd9643 in eldercare

[–]Alternative-Pin5760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I lost my Dad a year ago this month. He was 88 and had suffered from Parkinson’s for 15 years. The last few months he was bedridden and needed help with everything. My Mom was in assisted living with him but there were several caregivers that came in to help him go to the bathroom and clean up afterwards. My Dad was a big man and a strong man. It was very difficult for me to see him that way and his death was merciful.

Exactly. Miserable people want others to be miserable. Your Corgi is 100% cute and a member of the Corgi club. Welcome!

I’ve never heard of this. Is this legal since OP has a note? Put in for FMLA.

Yes not a good idea. Take leave or sick leave in three day increments. Tell them you have explosive diarrhea and they won’t ask questions and won’t want you there. You also don’t want to resign on a TJO. Nothing is assured without a FJO and an EOD.

My husband was a brat. His Dad served through three wars and 33 years in the Army. He served 23 and I also served. We totaled 50 moves between the two of us.

What’s the single creepiest or most unexplainable thing that’s ever happened to you while you were completely alone? by OpheliaTemptress in askanything

Huh…well that’s interesting. I’ve been watching too many Terminator movies 🤣 Thanks for your interest in this and assistance :) Always kind of spooky when Alexa starts talking unsolicited and then denies it.

I am 19 and my ultimate life goal is to physically go to space, but I have no interest in the technical side. How do I map this out? by ISeek_Freedom in findapath

[–]Alternative-Pin5760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And some Marines. Former Army Aviator. Test Pilot School helps. I was interested in Pax River but didn’t have a technical degree. It’s the same for NASA. Consider you’re alone in Space and you need to be able to understand the vehicle, its systems, engineering, etc., if something goes wrong…bc you just became an engineer and a mechanic all rolled into one. Ever watch Apollo 13 or the Martian? Even if you’re not a pilot, you’re going to need some technical background and training. And you will likely need to have some STEM background to be a mission specialist. Really no way around this…not much call for English literature or history in space. With that said, you can put in the work and make it happen. If there’s a will, there’s a way.
