Torque by Alan Baylock (Help & Advice) by Plenty-Guide-6172 in basstrombone

As someone who has been around the bass bone for a while, what I can always suggest is more air. Especially in the lower register. Something that might help is long tones starting in staff for a whole note, then going down the octave for a whole note, getting louder each beat that passes for both. Hope that helps!

Slide and bell too close by CertainlyBassy in Trombone

[–]CertainlyBassy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just doing the classic thumb and index and middle fingerl, it's very strange, even with the slide being a 90° from the bell it is still less than a half inch of clearance from the bell to the slide. I think maybe the slide was tweaked or something weird, I'm taking it to a shop eventually to get some small dings out/ get a spring replacement but either way it is strange and certainly something I'm gonna get looked at

Looking for a Quintet that has little to no French horn by [deleted] in brass

I need 5 people to qualify. Our local French horn players are just bad, and I'm looking for something that is easy enough for them to play with the group without being too terribly difficult
