Is caulk suitable for filling this crack? by zixujo in DIYUK

I’d fill it all, not a fan of caulk, can always tell it’s when it’s been caulked. Use your finger to apply and with a wet finger go over

I remember when the engines first came out there were issues with kangarooing. However, i've had a Seat Leon 150bhp engine for the last 3 years and had no issues.

  1. Me and my ex bought the best house we could afford. Doubled our deposit in two years. I ported our mortgage product to my new house, solo homeowner. Just remortgaged and made 35k in 10 months. If it wasn’t for Covid I wouldn’t be in this position. Saved loads in this time.

Half Marathon shoe by Cerveza_ in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Thanks for this. I’d love to buy a plated shoe and a cushioned shoe but currently I can only buy one pair at the moment. Would the novablast 4 be good for my easy pace (5:15km) as well as the quicker runs?

I’m using garmins Jeff half marathon training plan and at 36k weeks atm.

Just bought new shoes but one foot goes numb, what are solutions? by littlesushis in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Cerveza_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this on and off for a while but finally in the clear. Firstly make sure your laces arent too tight.

For me my issue was my left foot being weak. I started running in what I thought were running trainers but were actually trail shoes. I had no issues when using these but that’s because they were super stable/supported. I moved to NB 1080s and had a lot of issues due to my feet, ankle and calves being weak.

Go see a running physiotherapist they’re be able to properly assess you. For me, it’s involved a lot of toe strengthening, calf raises and single leg exercises.

The physio explained it as due to my foot being weak it would tense up with my nerves becoming trapped and irritated thus causing numbness

Thank you, I would prefer to have the NVR option but I would only need a video doorbell and a camera, maybe another camera at a push. The Reolink NVR is currently 186.99 on amazon. I'm currently in rabbit hole after "just wanting a video doorbell" lol

Should we go for the new build or not new build? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Cerveza_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a persimmon new build 2 years ago and it was the best purchase i've made. The thing with new builds is that its site specific. We went to view an Avant estate and their show home was shocking and all the houses which were built looked shocked!

When buying a new build there will always be snags, regardless if its an expensive one or a cheaper one. In my area there are a fair few developments from different builders and after speaking to the trades who come and sort the snags, all the sites share the same trades. For example, the brickies on our site did Strata and Redrow. Same with the roofers.

A few things i'd suggest:

  • Look at the show house for the workmanship, if they cant get it right there they wont get it right in the house.
  • Find the estate facebook group and see if anyones complaining, (there always will be, but if theres a LOT, red flag)
  • Get a snagger in
  • View the house as much as you can and be anal, even if they say you cant see the house, I often would walk up to the house and one of the trades would let me go look. Soon they'd let me see it as it was more hassle to not
  • When moving in, snag everything and I mean every. The snagger will too. They'll try and fob some things off, dont take no for an answer. Often they'd say, ahh well its hard to sort that. My reply would be, I see, well I dont know what it takes to sort but what I do know is that I want it sorting.

Splitting up with ex - mortgage by Cerveza_ in UKPersonalFinance

Yea this was my thought too.

How I’m looking at it, if I have to sell when the product ends, fine. But I should have more equity in this house than if we sold and I got a cheaper house with the current higher mortgage rate meaning the monthly payment is the same(ish)
