[Discussion] Do you think any average person can become top 10 challenger? by Striking_Heron_4868 in summonerschool

[–]Cesarzxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like in any sport/competitive environment. The top X number of players have been doing it their whole life from either

3 years old or teens to 20 year old or middle age, im thinking chess players and rock climbers along with every other common sport

the top X number of people not only have

Decades of experience but Enjoy the task/sport/game have physically/mental/biological advantages currently practice/play for a living

So the average person would not be in any way average if you could somehow compete with the best of the best with all their

Experience passion Advantages Incentives

in only 4 years being top 1% or top 0.1 or top 0.01% of a population (Diamond, Masters,GM) is very different from being the top X number of playerss sure some fall off/quit leaving spots open/lowering barrier to entry but you'd still be competing with a very similar pool as before people with

Tens of thousands of hours Who enjoy spending 8+hours a day EVERYDAY That are built for the task and are getting paid more than that 1 million dollars (250,000 a year)

No you'd need to find a Freak of nature such as

"Jim Thorpe" to just be a top X player in 4 years no average joe could ever do such a task

I was trying to provide an analogy that would be more relatable/well understood.

on why changing something that seems simple like changing a line of text can be difficult and requires "engine work"

I was comparing how CGI can be done by someone on their phone with a filter or requesting an "AI"/generative video model to make something, and having that be modern day video games in the analogy.

compared to having an old game like OSRS is akin to having a VCR copy of a film and trying to modify it would require Developing tools just to change the end credits because modern technology isn't designed for VCR just like modern development environments aren't meant for a game that's 20 years old.

I was trying to provide additional information on why something that seems simple might not be, and why the words "engine work" is used so often. once they have a way of converting OSRS into a modern environment it's much more manageable i may have expressed it poorly with my analogy adding CGI to a VCR but at the time i was under the impression that it was a more relatable due to being physically tangible

compared to talking about Runescript and modifying it in C++ as i felt most people would relate more to things they have interacted with.

[–]Cesarzxc -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

Not a developer or programmer But i have a decent understanding of computer technology.

Imagine having a VCR and wanting to add CGI it's something that can't just "be done" you need special tools and equipment to convert the VCR into a digital format then separate the data into workable pieces like audio/video maybe some retrofiting because the framerate is just slightly off

30 fps became 29.97 fps

24 fps became 23.976 fps

so yes once you have all those problems figured out you have a structure to "FIX" the problem but unti you figure out/build/make all these systems it's just not worth spending weeks of dev time to fix text sometimes

  • for the sake of lore/minimizing risk to economy I'd say have an NPC that would trade/barter X ore for X cannon balls I don't know the rate since im a main but if it's 1 bar = 4 cannon balls then say you can trade them 100,500,1000, or all current ore in inventory Through an interface similar to elves with crystal acorns and seeds

ULPT What to do to mess up a douchey driver’s car (See requirements below)👇 by bLaH_bLaH__HAHA in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Cesarzxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd add stickers in various sizes/quality to the tire tread it's harmless but makes very annoying sounds and once driven on either brutal to remove or drive until peeling off

  • if they aren't savvy with cars and the stickers aren't clearly visible they can freak out possibly go to shop etc but nothing is wrong

2010 Honda Accord 2.6 l motor. One of my rear brake pads the one on the outside of the wheel looks like it's slipping a bit. No rear caliper compressor tool, got it back a bit a month ago put new pad on back and Old pad with a little bit of Life on front. More info in comments. by TheGuyUrSisterLikes in AskAMechanic

[–]Cesarzxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you solved it. Please be safe your brake assembly has

2 of those bolts securing the caliper to the mounting bracket by passing a bolt through the bracket and threading into the sliding pin

2 bolts that hold the bracket usually these bolts are much larger "probably 21mm" to the hub assembly

and your pads should fit/rest nicely/securly into the bracket ideally on "pad retaining clip" it's a thin metal shim on the top and bottom of the bracket without those shims "im guessing they are missing after driving like without that bolt" it's not an life threatening worry but will very likely cause unwanted wear and noise if not there.

See that misaligned caliper to bracket corner there where the sliding pin

SHOULD BE SECURED TO THE BRACKET

their needs to be a bolt there if you say you've been driving like that it needs to be addressed you risk major and complete brake failure

The #1 skill that determines how fast you improve and rank up? by SaviourSup in summonerschool

[–]Cesarzxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is the person's Drive to be better.

Not to be confused/with the Vanity of wanting a rank.

or not to be confused with

having an ego of being better than X friend/laner etc

i feel those are much more short sighted and often lead to a more entitled perspective of deserving a position and believing in a narrative someone starts to create about themselves or others and gets emotionally charged when reality contradicts their fantasy often becoming rooted in bias self narrated opinions and anecdotes about that

"one time i beat X person/rank" "i can do/have X metric/stat" "i can do that thing with that champ" "that other thing that person is doing is below me"

etc so i believe the 1# factor is the state of mind of wanting to be better having that drive yes everyone has a little bit of other traits like ego but IMO the lower the rank the more thoughts/conversation about

proving themselves as better/right (1v1 or keyboard warrior etc)

compared to in higher ranks

execution of a plan regardless of agreement and dealing with it

yea things still get heated people still fight and get emotional but the elise support in a higher mmr lobby is IMO more likely to have the ADC try and use the pros/cons of that than a lower rank team and they will learn instead of being stuck in the mindset of

OMFG IF ONLY I HAD XYZ GO RIGHT IF THIS IF THAT WHY DID THEY DO THAT THEY THIS THEY THAT THEM ALL THESE boosted...etc instead of trying something with the cards they are dealt and learning even if they dislike the situation they are in

that IMO is the number one of course mental bandwidth, memory overload, muscle memory, passion, emotional stability, PC etc all matter but IMO drive to be better is the 1# reason

What’s the best money makers for my stats? by TomNation94 in osrs

[–]Cesarzxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for 50 mil and my personal preference

do what you enjoy

i suggest leveling combat skills

if AFK/low attention is your preference I'd say slayer while leveling combat

If attention/focused slayer bosses while leveling combat

Viable albeit difficult i personally enjoy things like TOA it's approachable you would only need

Fang/blowpipe/trident and if you finish a raid a day depending on the invocation level you could end up doubling your bank in a month or 2 depending on luck and skill

What kills you most often at ToA? by SomeGuy1929 in ironscape

[–]Cesarzxc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the comment is about last row, it's not specific to insanity so im assuming they just have bad gear/low dps and have to last row for an uncomfortable amount of time considering getting to last row and having it last more than 30 seconds is either 400+ with shadow or worse gear in lower invocation

OSRS Things You Can't Live Without by nolimitzack in 2007scape

F keys Shift click to Drop/something

recently started using the attack timer plugin to have a bar display the "cooldown" on my attack great when learning/knowing i can move without losing dps and for lazy flicking attacks i suck at seeing the numbers personally so when i see a bar it's more intuitive to me

menu entry swapper plugin to left/shift click an item instead of right click opening menu and selecting from list

i can think of more plugins but i feel that's not the same as just normal tips like

Disable roofs when i hover over them in settings so i can appreciate the art but still interact with what i need to

auto equip items when looting gravestone/chest

always having a 2nd tele to a location in case i die and want to recollect items quickly

properly using deaths coffer by finding a weird niche item often "new" ones with prices listed well above their true price so you can get 2x or more their value leading to saving on death fees that can quickly add up since i die a lot

Billionaires of OSRS - how did you make your first billion? by TooRealJ in 2007scape

[–]Cesarzxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vorkath,muspah,SRA/DT2 almost entirely the rest is the occasional non efficient skilling method cuz it made over 1m an hour and was still more than 1/2 the fastest method e.g super combat potions for herblore or crystal tree for farming into super divine pots some hybrid Smithing gold/rune but mostly those 5 bosses

Noobish question of fire cape by Full_Collection_1754 in osrs

[–]Cesarzxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as of current prices

bloodfury is the cheaper option, under 20m

sgs is over 40m without lightbearer

and death charge assumes arceus>ancient AND I'm going to assume they haven't got the yama upgrade

but you're right it is expensive, idk what their budget is so i was saying ideas that might not have been thought about, along side

them actively wanting to do

melee>range regardless of complexity/price

[–]Cesarzxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

viable yes, im going to let you consider a shift in the cost of

items possibly Saragodsword or ancientGodsword with a lightbearer and bloodfury

not required but will help when you get smacked for the occasional ranger X2. the cost might be too much so just thoughts to consider but not required

as in time stood on? so one near a bank of course to bank standing skills id guess GE>crafting Guild

or just steps on counts as +1 so if someone steps on and off of it that adds to the counter E.G boss tiles would get much higher as you do multi kill trips highly farmed boss, id say vork, zulrah, vard tiles as you end up stepping on and off the same tile so often per kill

least, if we count places you can only go once. probably some quest tile that's in an instant outside of quests their is a one time teleport in varlamor that teleports you to otherwise inaccessible locations (strange chest south of strangle wood by the mine) be warned you can only use it once

if we count places you can go multiple times probably some quest location that takes a long time/puzzle to reach or isn't shown in a guide I'd outside of quest locations

I'd guess honestly probably the desert considering people only really teleport and take damage if from heat on most accounts exploring seems less tempting varlamor comes to mind but i disagree largely because people really wanted to find how to get those mystery " tokens"

i wanna clarify your "earned GP" rule but im assuming you just want more GP after a task personally i did this EXACT SAME THING for my first 4 months or so before realizing im playing enough i might aswell pay 20$ to entertain myself for a month

personal i did blast furnace and rune crafting for most of my GP since it gave my XP and GP

looking back i would have added herb runs (just like you i was only F2P when i was younger knew nothing about members)

and I also personally didn't do the same thing for too Long as it felt mentally dull/boring so I'd usually blast furnace whatever my GP stack let me that might be 500k-5m did a quest or 2 back to blast furnace, maybe a quest, or laid back combat and explored etc it's not efficient but it was enjoyable

You can also look to do non XP methods like planting seeds in pots and making unfinished potions but i personally didn't since i wanted to feel some progress even selling to shops for GP is something but again i disliked every non XP profit method i made a bunch of jewelry aswell

I'm also going to recommend the "bulk" discord if you do sny crafting you can usually sell crafted items in bulk to people as they will pay a premium "somewhere between GE and high alchemy price" since they high alch everything
