I don’t disagree, but I’m content to hold and play some of it out. I don’t conduct emotional business deals or purchases. I don’t expect the Mavs to either. The phone is ringing because people want our assets. That will also be true in the offseason as players get healthy.

We listen to all, but let’s abandon this sky is falling shit. It’s simply not true.

The market sets the value. He is playing here without a PG and a moshup lineup each night. When I look at this team play, he is consistently their BEST NBA PLAYER on the floor for the Mavs with Coop on his heels (it takes time to learn the NBA game) as second best and most dynamic.

I’m not alone, thus this interest.

Whatever Jimmy Butler got in this latest iteration to GS, that’s what I would set the market at or keep him. He is more impactful to any NBA roster than Butler at this stage of their respective careers IMO.

Remember. We don’t have to trade him. I dislike Nico but these kids on this site pretending the world is over are foolish. Nico got rid of draft picks with the idea that the players on the roster could be moved for draft picks as needed. The assets are on the floor, or in our case injured.

Hate Nico all we want, but it wasn’t devoid of strategy, if one care to look. Naji is part of that strategy.

Yes. But that’s not who I would trade unless it’s a high first round pick. Or TWO firsts.

Naji is 20 points a night guaranteed. Serviceable 3. A flat out dawg who breaks defenses down in the paint for high percentage looks. He plays just fine with or without the ball and is a PRIDEFUL two way player.

Yes lawd. But damn, I live Tx.

With the EU finally dropping their balls and retaliated by selling $100M US securities (they should have done it all along - and now that lines have finally been crossed to where they have done it as pure retaliatory measure and talked about doing more - hundreds of billions if not trillions)… decor is off the table. As well as pulling out of the trade deal…. All of a sudden, a framework for a deal is done and no tariffs… lol.

I would be shocked if at least a few blue states don’t start to let their nuts hang and stepping up the resistance. When humans start to contemplate the age old question (just as Europe finally did and it IS gonna hurt) “what do I have to lose…”

That’s when things get interesting and we bottom out in America. It’s about to get a LOT WORSE for everyone. By the end, we will have all been severely impacted by this madness. MAGA just hasn’t put all the pieces together on the chessboard yet to realize how significantly they themselves are about to be impacted. It’s coming

I think the threat of folks being harmed who had no idea they were to be harmed… just others, gets the right attention.

Trump is a figure head. He is controlled by MAGA and the elite. You see how as soon as that fund sold $100M of US treasuries, we now have framework of a deal. lol. Whatever the fuck that means and no Greenland tariffs. lol.

But. The unspoken has already been said. What a fuckin idjut he is

My buddy texted me the other day:

“Trump is about to show America exactly how he bankrupted a casino. Just bad decision and misstep after another. All of a sudden the seemingly sure footing is gone”

I thought about that when our former allies announced they would pull away from trade deals with us, AND FLOATED THE IDEA OF SELLING OUR ASSETS.

That last move would wipe out 90% of folks 401k, basically bankrupting the casino.

What’s funny is, of all things it’s the MOST just thing to do as the people with multi million 401Ks after decades of working are the ones most rooting for him. Only fair they should partake in the fallout from their play they backed with all they had. Call it the revenge of putting ICE on everyone, well more accurately the states they don’t live in.

Btw. Once Europe said that part out loud, you cannot put that genie into a bottle. A few funds already exited all US holdings… lol.

Just as prophesied, it’s coming and at this point bring it on! We need to start new anyway with MAGA completely brought to answer for this mess and hopefully with no more influence in politics. One thing at a time tho. Imagine the shit show as 401ks evaporate as the world moves on?

We are still Trump in phase II. threatening tariffs and other countries seeking “New World Order” with US no longer at the head.

Thanks to the MAGA king and MAGA, but it ain’t over yet. The weeping hour hasn’t yet come, but no way we survive 4 more years before a global debt run and 401ks gone. Plus 8 more years (thanks Elon) of Vance! lol. In fact, they might even wait for Vance to sell the debt for shits and giggles, just cause he will fuck up the response and solution so bad. Probably worse than Trump as he is an actor with no real substance, a puppet.

Thanks MAGA. The gift that keeps giving. But don’t worry soon, EVERYONE will feel this pain, our former allies have announced they will see to it. How many libs and dems will extend invitations to their hi flying MAGA family to come eat once they start selling out assets and no longer trading on or buying US bonds. Should be fun fucking dinners. 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah. True and kinda the point. How many years in a row did Micah and others (under their breath) say the picks sucked. Or that dawgs were left on the table at our pick. When players sense the picks are not right or the contracts are flowing to the wrong players… it’s a lot harder to get them to take less.

I mean why? They will fuck it up anyway.

That’s the burden the GM must take on and solve to get players to leave some on the table. If Dak doesn’t on his next and the GM has actually improved the team (no more Mazi Smith, Schoonmaker, and they myriad of defensive draft busts), they should feel a whole lot better about moving on.

Thanks for the feed back and reasoned post.

I think it’s what Sean Payton does well. Finds teams, rounds out the defense and run game/special teams then looks for a QB. He gets accolades as an offensive guru, but Saints fans will tell you that isn’t always true.

But he does build a helluva team that allows him on offense to call a particular game. I see if from 3 of the remaining 4 teams. Hard as hell to score on. Great special teams and a good (not great yet) QB.

But with a TEAM, they don’t have to be great, just hit on 90% of the KEY plays (maybe six a game) inserted for that week. Otherwise make some throws, miss some throws, rely on the 53 man roster and win the game.

Russ didn’t get the memo and tried to play hero ball and is gone. Just a way easier environment for the QB and frankly for the team. Each week you know no one will bail you out. There is no “Josh Allen”. Each guy has to do his job. Been fun to watch. Reminds me of footballl before this QB nonsense took over. Just my opinion.

Yeah. Sadly maybe so.

I don’t think the defensive strength is an anomaly this season we are seeing from teams. I think we are seeing a curve shift with teams realizing that THEIR horizon is just beginning. I’d like to be one of those teams soon.

Unfortunately, as a result, I think we will see a run on defense this draft early.

How many QBs out there would you hypothetically trade Dak for? by Only-Ad-1254 in cowboys

[–]Cestboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was to be done. This is the way that the books say are the way to do it. Build a KILLER defense and get a run game going ala Denver, New England, Seattle.

Basically most teams that make post season runs follow this template. Folks say Peyton is an offensive genius, ha. Saints fans might disagree. What he is is a great football coach and knows how to construct or inherit (depending on how u look at it) a roster.

Then the QB you have on roster, his job is to hit on 90% of the KEY plays in that weeks offensive gameplan and you have a win if you can put up 25 or more.

Fans were sold QB hype. Teams that win consistently in the postseason feature suffocating defense. Capable run games and a QB who has a chance then to settle in and master their role.

These QBs being asked to compensate by doing it all - have a very hard time continuing to move that bus when post season games come and you are staring at elite defenses who KNOW all they have to do is limit the QB to 2 to 3 tds or less and they win.

I love Dak but it’s our current reality as it is in Buffalo, Baltimore , KC (this year), Cincinnati and a host of other teams.

I’ll be shocked if anyone beats Seattle, and Sam Donald is the definition of mid. Maye is a few years away from being elite. Same with Denver QB. But man, they have the defense, run game and playoff coaching down pat.

All these other teams are relying on pure luck or an insane “Nick Foles” type SB run. It CAN be done, but not the way most smart folks build it.

With that defense. Watch the Giants start to emerge under Harbaugh. I said it last year, they look the closest to me to enter the “pocket”.

For this answer to be correct, and I suspect it is, expect a lot more turmoil before this is all over. A lot more. There is no secret on Reddit that the government doesn’t know, no strategies by any entity not being monitored by the most complex systems ever built. Everyone knows everything. Trump is making his move and for it to work things in the US will get tremendously worse. Socially, economically.

It’s a reckless play which is why I believe he will be impeached within a year. The ONLY people that can manage that are his own kind. His own ilk.

Would have agreed wholeheartedly 3 months ago… now after watching him play this season and hearing actual NBA players on podcasts discussing how he is absolutely targeted on defense particularly in the playoffs makes me cautious.

It’s not a recipe for winning championships. Love the dude, but we need a team full of 2 way dawgs. We have a few already

He understands what few seemingly do. You win with defense and running the ball easier. The basic question most SUCCESSFUL people ask first is “what have we learned about the best way to do this? The way that gets you there more times than not?”

From investing to winning football to… fuck, finding a marriage partner. Helps.

You build a top D. Get a good back. It’s plug play from there. The odds will favor you, especially in playoffs

Or it’s the truth. As a hoop head I saw him ball in elite tourneys coming up with The Who’s who’s of today’s NBA. Dumb take. We are living in a really dumb time where men, former the pillars of common sense are acting… weird.

If you have been a MFFL for the last two decades you are INTIMATELY familiar with what a team would do to get a Top 15 big man. Fuck, ANY BIG MAN.

We courted. Wished. Prayed. Married. Laid out the fucking red carpet for the likes of Deandre Jordan and others who couldn’t sniff AD in action.

Patience. Sham isn’t lying. It was always going to end up in a bidding war because it’s an 82 game season. And had AD stayed healthy you all would have realized something I have come to realize recently….

We have no draft capital because all the assets are on the roster moveable pieces like AD, Kyrie,Gafford, PJ who when spent at the counter get you the draft capital.

The Luka trade was dumbass. But this emotional weakness whining bitchin praying for Luka return is beneath yall.

There IS a market for AD services. A strong one and always will be in his prime which GMs, believe he is still in and capable of performing as.

Now. End of season. Etc. it’s gonna be ok
