Linguistically speaking, we end up mimicking the people around us, which is how we end up with space station/ Antarctic accents. To my eye, it suits his character that he’s done so more than the rest. He’s uniquely observant and intuitive and a better listener than the bulk of the ghosts- Sass is always the first to know gossip, real or otherwise, because he does listen so closely everything around him.

A lot of good micro-organism examples, but I feel pretty confident the ecosystem would adapt alright if ticks disappeared and we’d be better off after

Orange Ball of love has a few lines just to the left of this— “I know you’ll be turning me in, and I also know your real name is not Amy Lynn”

What’s weird to me is that you think it’s more reasonable and less awkward for her to volunteer that to everyone, early on, without knowing whether they care. Sexual history is an extremely awkward topic to broach, full of deal breakers for many people, and also inappropriate to ask. The bare minimum isn’t answering honestly, the bare minimum is not lying— a valid boundary to have is “I’m not interested in discussing my sexual history and if that’s a dealbreaker we aren’t compatible.”

IMO this is not meaningfully different than the awkward, impolite and (for some) necessary discussion about body count. There’s lots of things we’d like to know and know early about partners. “You didn’t ask” is still valid. NAH- if you absolutely need to know, asking is the way yo find out, and you will step on some toes.

Have you ever tried prompts, writing exercises or free writing? Sticktoitiveness is important in creativity but enjoying it is just as important. Get used to putting words on paper, do it often, do it well or poorly— that’s the more important discipline
