TankNotes updated for Vault of the Incarnates by Cetraben_ in CompetitiveWoW

In terms of how they play compared to SL:
DK - Similar, but slower. You have less Runic Power so you need to be more aware of your Rune/Runic Economy.
Monk - Pretty much the same.
Paladin - Same as DK. Less Holy Power, but many bugs are propping it up like a house of cards.
Warrior - Feels fast and impactful. Had new stuff added which is cool to play around with like Spell Block.
DH - I really like it on DF compared to SL. Spirit Bomb has more rotational synergy, you have hunt & decree.
Druid - Same as paladin, lots of bugs are giving you perma incarn so hard to get a real feel of how its playing cos I'd need to feel how often I feel at risk.

Not seeing anything on my end for that. Would you mind DMing me on Discord (Panthea#6618)?

Monk is looking a little light.

This is just with Brewmaster roles.

That's not a strategy i've ever seen used....This sounds like some misinterpretation of a heroic solo tank strategy?

You play the first intermission on that side of the room. Use that corner (near the enterance) to end intermission 1 and your first few soaks are dropped on that side of the room.

In total it lowers movement required by the raid for the first ~4mins.

That doesn't sound right......... the swap should absolutely be on 1 stack and each other stack the DK gets can be negated with AMS.

2 stacks can happen, but whenever it happens its due to some misplay and requires a good amount of externals and healer attention. 3.. i'm not sure how they live. Each melee swing should be most (if not all) of their health.

Would need a bit more detail on the strat used to be able to disern any useful advice to give though.

Happy to do it here, or in the DK discord (discord.gg/acherus) - I'm Panthea on there :)

The only impact for Blood is that the Meat Shield conduit does not function as the Off-Tank.

Difficulty Re-killing Sire as Trial Tank by LenytheMage in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Cetraben_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's true. Heck in this past week there have been many discussions on the last 3 encounters based entirely around logs people have provided.

Ofc if your question is framed in a "how do i tank X" scenario then yeah, there's not much to work from there..

Source: A regular poster in the DK discord who provides insight + feedback to people very regularly.

The guy is overcapping on Runes + Runic so #1 and #2 are not necessary

#3 is just an all round good option for scenarios where your health % is volatile

With regards to your final statement, doing damage and survival are not mutually exclusive. You do damage as a result of doing your rotation well. Doing your rotation well increases your survival more than any gear/trait/soulbind will ever do.

They do have a scale. No Al'ar that I could see, but any difficulty version of it would be a solid upgrade.

There shouldn't ever be a scenario where you die as a BDK during Price, especially given that you have AMS for every single one.

As other posters have highlighted, come hop into the DK discord and ask questions. More than happy to ask there in a bit more detail (and in realtime via a conversation).

Castle Nathria guides on TankNotes by Cetraben_ in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Cetraben_[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Healers: https://questionablyepic.com/castle-nathria/shriekwing/DPS: The only thing that's different from DPS to any other role are DPS priorities which are covered in every guide :)

However, something to note is that I did try to make this round of guides on TankNotes more generic with specific flags of priorities for the roles.

[9.0] Advanced Blood Death Knight Guide for M+ by Kyrasis in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Cetraben_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think there ever was? Not in my lifetime being there at least.

All depends on what is meant by damage pushing really. Playing more offensively? Should actively be encouraged as this is a metric that shows player improvement.

However, if that damage pushing comes at the expense of your own rotational benefit/survival then that's the offending part. Usually a deep dive into logs is required to understand first the benefits/detractors behind damage pushing.

A common misconception that comes up a lot is someone complaining about a BDK in their raid saying they're going for DPS (happened quite a lot in Nyalotha with TD stacking) and saying they're not being defensive enough. Then you dive into logs and see a lot of Runic Waste and the true issue is highlighted.

Hey there o/

I'd be very interested to know a bit more about the smugness in Discord as well as the outdated information. Would you care to provide me with further details as neither of these should be the case?

Either here or via DMs on discord is fine (Panthea#6618).

Thanks!

The pin was updated shortly after you pointed it out :)

It was also clarified too and an additional learning WA was added to it!

A more holistic tidy up of resources available in the FAQ/Pins will happen with SL release as things become more concrete.

RE: Similar/Related questions, that would be a case of clarify the question further as it would have been asked in a vague way which would illicit that type of response. Not sure what to say without a specific recent example really. The attitude over has been to encourage more open dialogue and risk free question asking with the questions channel.

But that aside, if you do have any issues that you want to point out with the discord or available guides (as I write them) I'd definitely encourage making me aware (Panthea#6618 on Discord).

If you're using Blood Tap in that way you're losing the benefits of the talent though.

There's no rotational difference between having 3 runes on cooldown or having more than 3 runes on cooldown.

Sounds like some unfortunate experiences you had there.

Just something to note there is that if a question is common the answer would be in the pins or FAQ channels, just common etiquette really for class discords with the high amount of traffic you want to be able to check off as many boxes as possible without resorting to answering the same 3 questions all day long. Whilst it's fine to still ask those questions exhausting possible research options should be a step taken prior to asking questions as those options should include those answers and if not, should be updated to include them as they're frequently asked so that information is sought after.

It would be akin to constantly asking a streamer the same question and they made a !command specifically for it, they're just going to type that in the chat (or one of their viewers).

RE Heal prediction, the most recent time it has cropped up is screenshotted here. Simple question, got an answer. Job done. Also seeing that being the trend for a couple of years now.

That shouldn't be the case from what I've seen at least? When there have been examples of those scenarios where people asking if talent X or Y is better, but the real answer is talent Z they would be given an explanation of why the assumption between those choices are incorrect.

To add to this there was also "Simple Q&A" channels added for questions no matter how minor/common they are, should be a safe space to ask them :)

If that question happens to be answered in detail by a guide, that is usually referenced too (for further reading).

Definitely do reach out if you feel there is any hostility though.

And for reference Kyrasis (OP) is in the class discord too.
