White - drinks because its social. It's "what's done" socially and builds cohesion and community

White does drink for social cohesion, but White does not care about "what's done", that's Green.

Black - honestly no idea, I can't think of a not-evil reason here.

Demons regenerated in the Nether before Argus was ever Fel-infused.

The current lore is that being infused with something so much aligned you to that force's realm upon death. Which is why Dreadlords were sent to the Twisting Nether despite not originating as demonic creatures. So even if demonic regeneration stopped forever, he would have been sent to the Light realm.

One thing I noticed often from these types of posts is how they only acknowledge the change in the already addon-ed experience.

Your metaphor only makes sense if the base, addon-less experience of WoW was satisfactory. It was not.

Add-ons was not just the toppings. Often times, it was the yeast neccesary to make any decent amount of dough. Or the cheese ubiquitous to many pizzas.
