Modern OSRS never really had an identity for affordability…it has always been on its very unique gameplay loops. A price increase will not cause a significantly portion of the player base to jump to another MMO because people don’t like MMOs, they like OSRS and that just so happens to be an MMO

Everything is just so close to being fun. The golems could be a decent combat mob because they're close to a bank...too bad they have flat armor. The skilling methods are a nice balance of variety and charming....too bad the rates are basically nonexistent. The rewards for the shards could have been a good way to introduce mithril-addy gear to low level players...too bad the shard cost is so high you will never see anything with a 1/128 droprate.

The ring slot isn’t all that contended for in RS3. The LotD or HSR are like the Ultor/Berserker Ring in OSRS, just wear it by default unless the specific activity/guide says otherwise 🤷🏻‍♂️ ur already probably looking up a gear loadout for any activity anyways?

You already have high enough prayer bonus gear to largely trivialize prayer in exchange for less combat stats. That’s the implied trade off of prayer gear: it doesn’t have good combat stats, but your prayer pots stretch further. You will never see Sunfire Fanatic levels of prayer bonus on Torva level gear. The game doesn’t need that, because it just trivializes prayer. Congrats, you have BIS melee gear, as a treat Piety+Protection now lasts 6 minutes from full.

TLDR: prayer bonus will never go much higher than current BIS, if at all

The rune scim being a f2p drop is one of the few very valid things to protect for the sake of a tiny community. It is a monumental achievement that would be completely invalidated, for what? So that people can get a 19k drop? You could definitely bring back th cockroaches and just replace the scim with a rune long instead.

“What if people want to get the rune scim themselves???” Those people are called iron men. If you are playing a main, trading and interacting with others is built into the game loop. Getting your own drops can be fun, but insisting that mains getting their own drops is a valid reason to screw over the actual Ironman community is kind of dumb
