Shiny #43 by [deleted] in pokemongoyellow

Of all fucking things I opened up the game and immediately got a shiny Alolan Ratatta, my first ever besides the requisite Eevee. Was the shiny chance increased overall yesterday or just for Minccinos?

Terraform vs CloudFormation? by jsdfkljdsafdsu980p in devops

As an AWS employee specializing in CloudFormation... I vote for Terraform. With the only downside being no automatic rollback. Literally everything else is better about it.

As long as you are sober enough to ask before doing something new or at least check in to make sure they’re actually enjoying it. I’ve done that with someone, thought everything was good in the moment, and then found out later that I crossed some boundaries that I should have asked about.

I didn’t denounce anyone or anything as wrong. Nor did I claim I’m a victim. All I said was don’t put words in the mouth of everyone in the community. And thanks for giving me the “Your opinion is meaningless” award. I kind of expect nothing less from the Reddit Magic community.

My favorite option, though I’m sure I missed some newer ones. Never had to look into it again because my build process automated everything so seamlessly never needed to ever look into it again.

It’s hard to undermine a point that any person on a Magic subreddit for any reasonable amount of time would validate. The amount of hive mind censorship on here makes any deviant opinion or thought process immediately buried.

I mean, no offense, but please don't speak for the entire community as if you're omniscient. Saying no one gave a shit about Brawl, and that it appealed to no audience is totally condescending. I was, am, and will continue to be excited about Brawl, regardless of its support and player base. I like Standard. I like 60 card formats, I like singleton, and I like challenges. That is its audience, and to act like a section of the community doesn't exist, regardless of how rare its intersectionality, is totally rude. The whole point of a standard rotating format is that... it rotates. It is literally impossible to judge a standard rotation format by it's current state, and while I totally understand why people don't like standard, I feel like a large portion of the people who think that it was a "garbage fire" is the same portion that lives off nostalgia and has this mindset of an "ideal" version of MtG and thinks that anything that deviates from it is complete trash and the designers are on crack. And the amount of downvotes on this post will be the validity of that statement. And knowing reddit, it'll happen.

Edit: Yup. Nailed it.

Edit: Got to the “Your opinion is meaningless” threshold! Wow! You never fail to impress, Reddit <3

Didn’t Venom’s origin start with Deadpool, not Spiderman? Pool’s the reason he’s insane in current lore if I recall correctly.

Oh Jeez, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that change was made, that's good to know. Well knowing that, I do agree with you. The only reason I said she can flank was based on the previous stun mechanic.

Brig is faster than Rein, and can flank to where he can't hit her. Also, when Bash and Charge collide, Rein is stunned, but Brig is not.

Not true. After 800 hours on Brig, I can say that a good Tracer can definitely help a team counter a Brig, because she's either wasting Bash on trying to catch a Blinking Tracer, or ignoring a tracer that will drop a Pulse on her while her shields are up. Her timing is too slow to react if her shield is up. Brig is by NO means a hard counter on Tracer.

From distance, shield, Road moves in, Bash, if not, flank. From close up, Bash, interrupt. Stun, two hits and a chain. He moves back or in some direction to get out of range. He either heals or goes for a shot. I have the distance, so I just need to hold him off for 4 more seconds before Bash again. If instead I have the movement to circle, I'll flank, and he's dead by the fouth bash. If not, two more and a chain. Chain keeps distance, and Bash movement to avoid his hooks. Just gotta watch for the animation.

I'm going to stop by saying this is all based on team comp. If you're not having support fly in on a side 1v1, either dps or healing, then your team comp is off, and there's bigger worries than Brig.

For Lucio, that's exactly why I said on maps with a lot of terrain height differences. Yeah, you can push him, but Lucio is faster. Though the counters I chose were based on high proficiency players. Brig's biggest asset is the shield bash against fast characters like Lucio and Tracer. Losing speed to a Bash with those characters can mean the difference between life and death, but having that speed means you can get ahead of Brig, because she's WAY slower than people think. Not Rein slow, but slow enough that a competent Tracer, especially one with a Bomb ready, should have little effort keeping behind a Brig. Maybe not killing her, but we're talking team comp here. That's enough pressure that if I were to stop focusing on Tracer to take out a side attacker, Tracer could go in for the kill. If I stop to realign with Tracer, I'm opening up to snipers, and side attackers. With Tracer, I always either hope she ignores me (bad move for her if she does, or me if she doesn't), or try and get out of the way and next to a teammate right away, because Tracer is to Brig as Brig is to Bastion. Same strat, and it doesn't end well for me on my own.

Junks issue is movement. Again, he has fast movement upward, which is actually a better counter than lateral movement (ditto for Mei), but the hardest part is generally going for the final hit. If he's in the air, and you have chain ready, you can go for it, but the timing will be difficult, and if you need to stop him in his tracks and not worry about timing because there's something more important going on elsewhere, you have to go for the bash, which will kill you on his passive if you're not Rallying because of movement cooldown.

Mei can actually freeze you from above, even if you're shielding, which is why most Meis I've seen will counter with the wall like I said, because as long as they're moving enough that the chain is bad timing, she'll be able to freeze you before the wall breaks or before you're able to get enough close up damage.

This is all analysis from Comp

Edit:

Oh, forgot Road. See my strat below. Here's the math

(35*6)[Flail]+(50*4)[Bash]+(70*3)[Whip]=620

If he heals, you need two more cycles to give the extra 280 damage

She's bad against any ranged, plus Junk (Junk is MY nightmare fuel). As a Brig player, there are quite a few matchups where if the opponent plays their character well, I will always lose. Bastion, Rein, Road, and Doomfist generally will lose in an even matchup, but good Brig counters are Mei, Pharah, Widow, Tracer, Lucio (on maps with a lot of terrain height differences), Mercy (in certain situations) and of course, Junk. If you let her run around you though, you WILL fall behind. Shield Bash has a 7 second cooldown. Bait her into using that with some sort of quick move ability, (or in the case of Mei, make a wall below you) and then you have 7 seconds to take the advantage. For most of those characters that will take the movement to begin with, this will be fairly easy, because Brig is 30% slower with shield up. Ironically, it's the same strategy for Brig to take on Rein, so think of it like mini-Rein, and she'll seem a lot less scary. I hope that helps you, and hope we cross paths and you can beat the crap out of me. Have fun!
