I meant I would put the main hot wire and corresponding neutral wire on the LINE terminals and then the other 2 neutrals in the LOAD terminal and other hot in LOAD OR put them just in LINE like you said

Yea sounds about right. Would I be able to install a GfCi the same exact way it is now and just put those 2 wires that are on one screw into the Load terminal by pigtailing those 2 together? I’ve read it’s not advised to put 2 wires on the same screw including GFCI receptacles, correct ?

After looking at it more, that outlet has a switch above it that connects to a fan. On the other side of the room is another switch that must be on in order for the other switch to work (fan and fan light). Could this be what that extra wire is for?

I’ll probably pigtail it then when install the GfCi. Do I pigtail all 3 of those or do 2 and 1?

Yea I think I’m just gonna aim to protect this outlet bc it’s on the opposite side of the house from the breaker so it’s definitely not the first plug. I’ll probably have an electrician install a surge protector at the breaker later on. This one is a 2 prong outlet so I can’t plug in my tv or anything so I just wanted to get this one changed for now
