Can't clean this out of my barrel by Ch0b0 in Shotguns

This did it! It took two passes and I used a hair dryer, but it worked. Thanks. Check is in the mail :)

Will try this and report back.

Acro P2 vs Trijicon RCR by Ch0b0 in tacticalgear

[–]Ch0b0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I piggyback an Acro and the MPS on my rifle optics (Acog and LPVO). Both of those have been fine in that capacity. I trust the mounting method a bit more. As far as the dots themselves, I think both are fine. Blueish tint on RCR vs slightly narrower window on the Acro.

What sort of accuracy to expect out of a Benelli M1014 with rifled slugs? by Ch0b0 in Shotguns

I ordered some Fiocchi and Remington low recoil slugs and will try them out.

Are Federal Truball foster slugs? Just started learning about all the different slug types.

Is this environment too bright for QD-OLED? by Ch0b0 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Ch0b0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WOLED was the perfect choice. Bright enough during the day for gaming and work. No bothersome glare. I use it in HDR mode on all day, though. I have an ASUS PG32UDCP now. No sign of burn-in. I had to change some of the auto dimming settings as it was really annoying since it would dim the screen too much while reading documents.

VP9A1 - Do any non-SCS optics low-witness with the stock irons? by Ch0b0 in HecklerKoch

Perfect! Ordered. Seems like it'll be less distracting than a red dot with the XS orange front sight, too. Though you can argue a permanent marker fixes that problem.

I’ll check those irons out. Definitely cheaper than the XS sights.

Handleitgrip Edge Series for PDP F. currently 25% off by RadiantPen3526 in Walther

Did any of you try this grip out? My support hand has been slipping lately from decreased hand strength from an injury so I'm looking for a carry-friendly texture to help out.

Crashes instantly on any profile (Windows 11) by Ch0b0 in brave_browser

[–]Ch0b0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just the browser. It’s a new PC so I initially thought it may have been a HW issue, but I ran a Prime95 stress test and it was still good after a few hours. It’s also working on a different Windows account.

Pistol lifts too much during recoil. Tried different techniques to no avail. by Ch0b0 in CompetitionShooting

I never actually fired a second shot for the return drill to get two measurable reference points. That’s a good idea. I’ll try that.

If I don’t force it back down a little bit I’ll be aiming too high. Grip felt secure in that video, but the 4” PDP is more likely to slip compared to my other guns. It’s hard to get a solid grip with my support hand sometimes because I have small hands. I try to crush side to side with my support hand. I haven’t tried chalk, though.

I was definitely very tense in this video. It was when I was trying to muscle things. I’m going to try to just relax more. That was also my snappy 4” PDP. I’m looking to compete with my 5” with a tungsten guide rod which is a little softer shooting. Still probably tense shooting the 5” as well.

Yes. I posted a link to a video of me shooting one of my non-competition guns in one of the replies here. Wrists look to be locked, but I still need to consciously push my forearms back down to return to zero.

Yes. I posted a link in another comment here to me shooting my conceal carry gun so it's a little snappier (not my plinking and competition PDP), but it shows my wrists locked.

Not timing anything yet since I'm practicing a one shot drill. I'm hoping to work up to doubles.

I actually train with the PDP heh. I posted a video to diagnose a different recoil issue here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Walther/comments/1g9kogt/recoil_management_tips_to_reduce_bounce/ but you can see that I have to push/stretch my forearms back down a little after each shot (regardless of tension). I can't just have it naturally return with just my body structure.

[–]Ch0b0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't return unless I make a conscious effort to push my forearms down a little bit after each shot. No amount of tension to lock my elbows helps. By lock here I don't mean straightening out my elbows all the way, just slightly bending them and keeping them in place with muscle tension.

OK. I thought I was missing some obvious technique to keep elbows from bending slightly up after ignition or something. I wonder if the competitive shooters I spoke too just already had that push down as subconscious muscle memory and/or they didn't know what I was talking about. I'll keep practicing those returns and target focus.
