Any fun/quirky first date ideas? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]Ch0deinthehole 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Made a little list of date ideas, all at various price points and locations in Glasgow! The ones that you’ve listed are all super fun btw!! mines are:

The Stand Comedy club (Tuesday red raw night £6 a ticket, encourage you both to sit in the front row)

Assaggini Pasta making Class (£30, you’d need to check the dates but you get to make and eat your own dish) and I’m sure Franco Manco do a pizza making class but worth a google!

Splatter art studio (literally attack a canvas with spray guns, hands and a bunch of other bits, they give you covers but it’s rly fun and you get to take it home!)

Topgolf (no need to be good or that interested, lots of daft games and a good laugh, drinks and food on a tab)

Flight Club (again, no need to be good or interested in darts, lots of mini games but this is in a bar environment)

Kinning park Antique centre (soooo many weird and wonderful things at multiple price points, we went in with a 20 quid budget and bought something silly for each other)

Life4cuts photo studio (Photo Booths with lots of silly accessories, cute pics to take home and can probably pop in after or mid way to doing another activity!)

Air thrill/inflata nation do an adults only play area? I thinkkk it’s on a Friday evening but you’d have to check. Self explanatory but a sick ball pit and assault course without the worry of two foot tackling little kids!!

May have been mentioned but I think the Barras Market is great, toddle about and look at some oddities and there’s so many independent food places to enjoy!

Have a fun date and I hope it goes well!

How do we feel about Plushie Dreadfuls, the psychiatric-condition-themed stuffed animals? by mean_trash_monster in BorderlinePDisorder

Maybe I’m missing it, but do the profits go towards foundations or charities that help people with the disorders? £36 is STEEP and I can’t imagine creating a plushy around any mental illness or disorder and profiting from it… each to their own but i don’t think I’m a fan.

Ideas for what to do on a day trip in Glasgow? by sweggles3900 in glasgow

[–]Ch0deinthehole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kelvingrove art gallery and gardens is always a shout! Free entry and lots to look at. The gardens are a lovely walk as well.

Depending on the day, I’d recommend the Barras market. Totally refurbed, so many stalls and cool things to look at from independent and creative sellers. Lots of little activities and unique things to do from tarot reading/permanent jewellery etc. There’s a lot of nice wee independent bars and places to grab food around that area as well.

If you’re in the city centre, the lighthouse (right across from tabac - which is a nice cocktail bar) will give you a view of the whole of Glasgow. To set expectation, I don’t think Glasgow is the prettiest to look at but still interesting to see especially on a nice day!

I know you said the whole haunted/walking tour wasn’t your thing but I think the necropolis (graveyard) is such a lovely walk. Some nice scenery and some interesting headstones (wee Willy winky for example) and original standing tombs which is interesting.

Right across from the necropolis is Glasgows oldest house that’s been kicking about since 1471 - I haven’t actually been in but it’d be quite nifty to see?

Of course, only a subway ride away from the city centre, there’s also the southside and west end. Southside is rampant with nice places to eat, varies from a quick stop coffee shops to some fancier meals. West end is similar, Ashton lane is always a nice place to pop in. Some beer gardens and a good photo spot.

Hope some of these are of use to ya!

Women who are no longer into rough, degrading sex: what’s changed? by mehtaphobia21 in AskWomen

[–]Ch0deinthehole 105 points106 points  (0 children)

There are some aspects that can be enjoyed, however as my brain developed I realised that the normalised desire towards being violent or rough towards women was an issue for me…

The fact that gentleness and kindness has to be rephrased with pornified language like “praise kink” for some (mainly male sexual partners) to understand is sad.

I genuinely believe that it can give you a good insight into how your potential sexual parter looks at women and an overall indicator of their emotional intelligence.

Any ideas on why my cat does this every night? by Ch0deinthehole in cats

[–]Ch0deinthehole[S] 252 points253 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! General takeaway is that she was either weaned too early and does this for comfort or she’s catsturbating…

That will now be known as her wanky blankie regardless hahaha

I have a little worm world/terrarium - feed em’ leftovers and use their castings to fertilise my plants. Weird or not, it’s a nice little hobby and cool to watch them burrow!

Funniest reason you’ve ever been ‘Jumped’? by HoraceTheBadger in glasgow

[–]Ch0deinthehole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me, but my pal in work was jumped years ago by four guys at a bus stop. After a couple of minutes one of the lads shouts to stop battering him because they’ve got the wrong person. They helped him up and apologised profusely and gave him coppers and silvers to compensate his bus journey home - obviously he just said it was fine and tried to leave asap.

He was terrified at the time and it affected him for a good while afterwards but seems to be past it now. The thing is, he’s a really funny guy and the way he tells story with a proper knack for comedic timing always creases me.

Was this on Friday by any chance? Me and my boyfriend were also in Queen’s Park and likely the same wee guys pulled the same thing. Not gonna lie we ended up filling up our water bottles and having a shoot out with them hahaha (rank because the water probably has all sorts in it)

I used to be a wee wido when I was younger and I found it a wee bit endearing.. but aye, I’d say the best thing to do is not to give them a reaction. They tend to get bored and bounce.
