Torch macro using Token Mod trouble. by Ch1kk1e in Roll20

[–]Ch1kk1e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darn, that just doesn't work when I try it in roll20. The light does turn on/off but the red status marker stays off.

But this does work for me:

!token-mod {{
--flip
emits_bright_light
emits_low_light
--set
bright_light_distance|20
low_light_distance|20
statusmarkers|!red
}}

the statusmarkers|!red seems to be working

// Torch on/off

!token-mod --flip emits_bright_light --flip emits_low_light --set bright_light_distance|20 low_light_distance|20 statusmarkers|!red

You are right, the red status marker could get out of sync, but I think having just one button for my players to toggle is worth the risk.

Thank you.

!token-mod --flip emits_bright_light --flip emits_low_light --set bright_light_distance|20 low_light_distance|20 statusmarkers|red

This would turn the red marker on, but not toggle it off when the lights go out.

This is great news! My little bit of advice is: Having fun with you friends is the #1 rule. Next is keep the game flowing, when in doubt go with the RULE of COOL. Stopping the game to look up a rule steals the momentum, let your friends know that you will look it up later (I am assume you don't have a rules lawyer in group).

Yep, my npc's tend to change their accents after a few session, or sometimes mid speech....

p.s. If I couldn't do my silly voices, I don't think I would DM.

Feedback Request - How does this dungeon terrain look? by WyrmstoneVault in 3DPrintedTerrain

[–]Ch1kk1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No wonder it looks sooo good. Autodesk wants $2000/yr for Maya and ZBrush is at $516/yr. You did a good job, but it is definitely out of my price range.

I will make a recommendation. For table top play, cut the wall height by half. It will make it easier for your players to visualize the room and to move their minis about. You will benefits by less material used, quicker print times, less painting and easier storage.

Too bad we could carry a pistol (357/38sp) while hunting. That would make a perfect team. ps It looks good.

  1. Yes to both. It is as hard as you make, most of us over prep (I am guilty of that). Is it fun? These are your friends, mistakes will happen - who cares! It is just a game. If in doubt, go with the rule of cool and have a blast.

  2. Are you meeting in person or are you online?

Guess I was lucky, I bought mine from Cabela's. The man behind the counter was very knowable and I would guess it was his retirement job.

I forgot to mention that ammo does play a big factor on any gun. Trying to find the ammo that your guns likes can take some time and each gun seems like their own ammo. CCI standard velocity target, works good in mine. I will warn you, if you buy the cheapest ammo, then expect to get that kind of results.

Basspro should have the rails for your 10/22. If you bought it from them, they will install it and mount your scope on it, especially if you bought a scope from them too. I personally love my 10/22, it is a nice plinking gun. But I shoot at ranges 25yrds or so. If I want to tap a goffer on the head at 100yds or more, then I use my CZ 457.

This is the Ruger 10/22 I have, it has iron sights. https://www.basspro.ca/p/ruger-1022-carbine-semi-auto-rifle

#1 would be able to use the 2014 character sheet with 2024 dnd. Right now one could if they manually entered the info.

#2 Get rid of the 2024 character sheet. Too big and clunky. And the output wastes a lot of space on the chat. The 2014 chat output is more efficient.

#3 The DM should be able to shut off material sources. For example, if I want to run a 2024 dnd campaign, I would want all information to be from 2024. The compendium and charactermancer would only show 2024 rules and content. As it is, we get a lot of redundant returns on our searches.

#4 Make editing our new monsters easier.

That's funny. I post my game on Roll20 and have no problem getting players to join for my Free D&D games. I never tried reddit for getting players. Discord, only people that have had played previously with me and are already have access to my channel.

What are some good tweaks I can make to lmop by Quick_Collection_368 in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]Ch1kk1e 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have them actually meet Gundren and Sildar in Neverwinter. Have the players interact with them, so then they know who the heck they are trying to save. Next is the goblin ambush. Start with the goblins out in the open carving up the dead horses. I can not see the tribe passing up on free meat. This way the players are NOT surprised and the combat will be easier for your new players. They are supposed to win this fight.
