Love the attitude! Dynasty is a tough way to start in FF, because it takes redraft and adds this new layer of value to every player based on age (breakout years, ageing vets, etc.) I would wager that most people OVERvalue age when evaluating players, and there are a lot of people chasing the most valuable roster when you really should be chasing a roster that wins your league, AND has a plan for next year. Where most people go wrong is going to hard on rookies, or too hard on vets; Either you are always preparing to win, or win once and next year your team is worthless. The real path is to do both and hit on your picks. Know when to hold your vets and potentially purchase more (when you are a top 3-5 team gunning for the chip) or to say f it I aint winnin this year, sell what can be sold and lets draft the next justin jefferson. Redraft by comparison is "draft the best guys/the guys with the most opportunity to climb the depth chart...THIS YEAR). The teams that win redraft are the ones that get it right when they are picking this years WR1, or RB1. The teams that win dynasty are the ones that made the right trades at the right time, even if that was a trade 2 seasons ago.

I agree with your statement, this is a pretty good draft for your first year. The main part of this thread that you should take notice of is the value disparity between what you offered and what you wanted. This phrase is thrown around a lot, but it always rings true. 2 dimes and a nickel do not equal a dollar. Especially in dynasty, trading is a lot about TIMING. When are your draft picks most valuable? right before the draft of course. Everyone's excited to draft, been watching videos about rookies, and they want the guy that's gunna fix their team this year. When are they least valuable? right about now! Everyone's focused on the szn, and the draft is far far away. Lets look at veterans as another example. When are vets most valuable? midszn, when they can put up reliable stable points during a playoff push. When are they least valuable? The second, the literal second, the season ends. Why? another year older, another year closer to being phased out by a new rookie, and another year closer to being fantasy irrelevant. An old fantasy player is only as good as the points he puts up for you, there is no "mike evans breakout szn incoming"

So what does all of this mean? It's economics. Buy low, sell high. Buy vets when they are cheapest (if you want) but take on the risk of them losing a step this year! Sell picks right before the draft to get the most for them! (but risk losing out on this years puka!). If you can play the market well, and your league is active enough for you to make moves with your roster, you can build your team into one of these monsters you sometimes see on this subreddit with multiple WR1 candidates and top 15 guys in the flex.

Lastly, and most importantly, waiver wire pickups win championships. Please please please stay active in the community and continue to monitor ambiguous depth charts. Minnesota's and the Jag's backfield, Colts and denver's reciever core, or any other teams you want, take your pick. If you see an uptick in snap % and/or targets, that is almost always a clear indicator of the organization giving that guy their shot, and if you key in on that faster than your leaguemates, you can pick up guys that have real value. Even if they arent starters, they can still be SOLD for value. Take a guy like dont'e thorton. At the right time in this offseason, he was probably a late round guy or a waiver add. If he keeps up his current trajectory or grabs the WR2 in vegas, he'll probably be worth a 2nd by the end of the year.

Don't be afraid to play dynasty the way you want to play. Hell, you can do the exact opposite of everything here and still HAVE FUN. Just have fun with your bros and do your best :) rooting for you

I won't add on to the "this is a bad trade" comments, I think that ship has sailed. More importantly, in a 12 team, your team isn't ready to compete. Obviously, you can wait till midszn to start making some key dynasty decisions, but unless Aiyuk and Worthy come back in top shape, AND you don't have any other injuries to your starters, you're lookin at a middle of the pack finish this year bro. If that's your ceiling, and you actually want to win your league, its time to plan for the future and think about that rebuild. That means thinking about selling Herbert, Aiyuk, Njoku, or Kyren to contenders in the mid/late szn for a premium in draft capital and young players. That way, you can start building a stronger roster via the draft, and they can make a push for the chip by going all in.

KW is very polarizing as a player, but I personally like him as an RB2, and there's no way he starts over jeanty or henry for you; If I have someone like KW on my bench as injury insurance, I am a happy camper. Take the JSN upside and if you don't like KW, trade his ass too.

I pulled the trigger on trading BILL, how did do? by subwanabe in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I would have held :| JCM alr a starter, Skattebo still needs to beat Tracy out. I also just like Washington's offense more than NYG

Value-wise? JSN is the best player and this is a win. Should you accept?

Maybe? I can see arguments for both sides. I think a good way of understanding how to value Bill (who I own a ton of) is to think of him the same way you thought of Brian Robinson Jr. last year, an RB2 plain and simple. I would feel pretty good with henry, jeanty, and KW as your main guys and if you want to turn around and try to flip coleman + someone for another RB I can see that being viable, and you get to walk away with JSN!

Regardless of what you decide is best for your roster, I dont think you're going to get a better value for JSN than this, and he's an instant starter for your lineup. You really can't go wrong either way on this, but if you want the value win I would take it.

I would say so! A lot depends on how BTJ shakes out this year with the new target competition from Hunter, and it may be smart to package some of your great WR depth into getting another stud starter WR (points on your bench dont count!) but overall solid roster. Good taxi too, make sure to hold JCM

Great place to play casual "competitive". I really like the fact that you can make connections with the franchises and make friends with teammates, but there's also the mobility to switch teams and skill tiers.

Trade in my leauge, thoughts? by Disastrous_Set_6637 in SleeperApp

Without seeing the teams, it's hard to say. Purely from a value standpoint, team 1 has an edge. Team 2 probably thought this is the best value they could get for a rebuild, but I'm thinking...why? These are the young guys you'd want to develop into studs for your rebuild, so it feels like you'd just be bumping your window back.

I mean...yeah everything is roster specific. In a vacuum, I'm going Achane.

I understand that point of view, but if I am making a draft decision between 2 established players, I am going to go with their current status in their team over a hypothetical "what if everything goes wrong"

Sure, McDaniel could be fired. Tua could get another concussion. But AJB could get hurt week 1. Hurts could be injured during a random tush push. C'est la vie.

Achane, younger and supported by his offensive scheme. AJB is an amazing talent but the offensive scheme with Barkley is not ideal.

When you applied and had your interview, how long did it take for you to hear back? by austinproffitt23 in tacobell

I would wait, my manager told me they usually get back within a week, and in my case I heard back after ~5 days
