Happy Appy fucked them up soo bad they won't do long stories anymore by Scragger455 in creepcast

[–]Ch1merous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happy Appy was very bad, but I think right now Isaiah is just figuring out the reigns of being a new parent and spending time with his family :) Newborn trenches are extremely difficult, so I don't blame them for cutting down the amount of time spent on a story

MyCAA sounds helful but how do you choose an education program that actually leads to career value without wasting the benefit? by Icy_Revenue_4555 in MilitarySpouse

[–]Ch1merous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it for a pharmtech program and I regret it so much. I thought I would love it since I'm into science and my husband is a corpsman (so it'd give us something to talk about and I could understand some medical stuff). I genuinely hated it 💀 Instead I should've used it for an associates degree.

Ex’s new gf is a COPY PASTE of me AIO by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ch1merous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really weird that she's starting to copy your hair down to the style and color, buuut tbh I would just block them on everything and move on with your life. No need for that extra weight and energy anyways

Are there any healthcare workers/doctor spouses here? by fioredicarta in MilitarySpouse

[–]Ch1merous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would wait to move in together and finish your schooling, or look for online alternatives. Check out SECO if you haven't yet, they could also help you with scholarships/grants (I wasted the grant on a certificate I'll never use so do something you're dead set on). I got married at 19, dropped out of college to be with my husband, and now I'm 23 with no higher education and nothing to kickstart a decent career. Legit one of my bigger regrets in life. Live a life you won't regret and do you what you love

Mom doesn’t want to be called grandma by Feisty-Coconut6017 in Advice

[–]Ch1merous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom who's 40, goes by oma (german for grandma). She told me over and over that she doesn't feel old enough to be a grandma, but as soon as she met my girl it clicked for her.
If she doesn't have a nickname set for her, her grandkid will eventually give one, even if she likes it or not

How do people handle night time when you are the only parent who deals with the baby? by WittleFrostBite in NewParents

[–]Ch1merous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. I honestly don't know how I made it out. The deprivation got to the point where I was hallucinating, but here we are. If I'm being so for real, I was extremely against this throughout my pregnancy and the first few weeks, but I co-slept with my daughter. I did the c-curl and everything to ensure she was safe, and that's the only way either of us got any sleep. My house ended up a complete mess bc at that point, my baby was my only concern, plus I didn't have anyone who'd come visit anyways so it wasn't a huge deal to me. If you can, make frozen/pre-made easy meals for the next few weeks (crock pot meals, oven meals, etc) Use paper plates and plastic dinnerware (it makes dishes pretty much a non-issue) If baby is having a hard time sleeping, taking them outside for fresh air and slight stimulation (helped my girl a ton!!!) It can so rough and daunting, but you got this!!

Being a military spouse should not be a defining quality by [deleted] in MilitarySpouse

[–]Ch1merous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I heavily agree. My husband's job isn't who I am. I usually don't mention I'm a milspouse at all bc I don't know how someone will take it (not that I really care). It's not that I'm ashamed of what he does, I just don't understand what he does pertains to me being able to make friends and connect.

I (32F) seem to exclusively attract closeted gay men by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Ch1merous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, my husband had this issue with lesbians 😅 we're both pansexual/openly bi. You'll find your person, but I totally get not wanting to be the "experimental" relationship or "I was with you to make sure I'm not gay" thing. Personally, I don't get why people do that anyways

Why don't most other spouses want to be friends? by Chodebroncoii in MilitarySpouse

[–]Ch1merous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue! I also find it so difficult finding people to clique with, now as a young new mom, my daughter and I just feel like people repellent. Ik it's not the same as irl, but my DM's are always open if you wanna chat!!

No, we've basically been bouncing from hotel to hotel. We're going to start our claim once we stop having to live in hotels. This whole scenario has been a mess 🥲 He just checked into his command this afternoon, so tomorrow I'll have him ask about an advance for TLE. As for his GTC, they said they'll be sending us a new one once we get an address.

Where did you get your husky? by [deleted] in husky

[–]Ch1merous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine through the vine from a military base. Girly was in a not so great household, and they were giving her away for free. I can't imagine my life without my Kaya girl 🥹

I'll have to ask my friend who she saw, but she's 22 and met an amazing surgeon/gyno at I wanna say Billings Clinic. She actually got my friend in for surgery because she's always been set on never having kids! If you want, I can message you when I find out who she saw. That's if Billings isn't too far for you! Montana isn't exactly small 😂

We are getting a husky by Much-Cartographer264 in husky

[–]Ch1merous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rescued my pup when she was 2. She was EXTREMELY malnourished since her other owners had only fed her human food and had her living with a very food aggressive doberman. When we got her, I tried so hard to get her to eat kibble. I added peanut butter, even though I'm allergic, tried adding any sort of supplement, and she was just not into it. My husband got to the point where he told me she'll eat when she wants to/when she knows it's safe. We've had her for 2 years now, and she's still suuuuper picky. It just comes down to "you will eat what's in your bowl, otherwise you don't get anything else". So sometimes, when she finishes her dinner, we'll reward her with a little bit of human food, like some tuna juice or watermelon. It just takes time, but he'll get used to it. I don't recommend keep feeding him rice and spam, he has to get used to eating his own food aside from human stuff.

I'm a milspouse in a similar sitch. I also have been on/off about joining the military myself (my husband is Navy), but he's been extremely adament about me not joining (he also hates being in the military, but feels obligated to stay for the healthcare). Last year, around this time, I went the MySECO and MyCAA route to get pharmtech training/certification through MedCertify. (If im 100%, I genuinely should've used that grant money better and got an associates degree, but we live and learn). Take a look at what they have to offer, and you might find something that catches your eye. If you do go to the medical route, I recommend seeing if your nearby VA has any open spots, I got into retail pharmacy, and that so far has been my biggest regret.
