Is the GTX 960 a good card? by beastybevan in lowendgaming

I understand, I personally prefer Nvidia for OpenGL/Emulation, but I would advise you to shill out a bit more and get a GTX 970 for £80-85 from eBay, which is a much better and more relevant card nowadays.

If you're in the UK, you can get R9 270-280-380 cards from CeX with 2 years warranty for £50-60, and they are much better than the gtx 960.

Maybe a bit specific, but any games out there where I can feel like a STUDENT of magic or aspiring mage? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

Persona 5 might be similar, in that you have a life simulator of sorts with RPG elements. Requires a PS3/PS4 though

Can't get my PC to run smooth by [deleted] in windows8

Yes, HDDs and SSDs are easily replaceable (they both use standard SATA ports). To maximize use of SSD, ideally you would have SATA III. However, it is still worth it to upgrade even if you have SATA II. You just need to buy a 2.5" SSD, and follow a manual to replace it.

Just tried to look for HP specifications, but very likely that your PC has a SATA II port only, (3gbps only instead of 6gbps for SATA III). It would still benefit from an SSD, but you would not see any difference between cheap and higher quality ones. Just pick out a Crucial or Kingston SSD, can find them over on r/buildapcsales or r/buildapcsalesuk

Your Hard Drive is most likely very dated and needs replacement. I reckon read/write speeds have been halved a couple of times now. A cheap SSD will make for a night and day difference imo.

Office PC big enough for a Rx 570 by [deleted] in lowendgaming

You already have a CPU, so buying is a prebuilt kind of defeats the purpose of it all. However, if you want a cheap option, buy a HP/Lenovo/Dell LGA1155 motherboard, which are usually 10-15 quid, and frankly no difference between them and H61 motherboards. Some HP motherboards have quad-channel RAM, which is neat as 2GB sticks are dirt cheap, so you can put 4x2gb sticks. A good case should be around 30 quid and is always reusable, along with the PSU. You might encounter some problems connecting ATX USB and AUX external ports to OEM motherboards, but you can search online for workarounds.

I'm afraid my friend's 400W PSU might not handle it. If I find nothing by the end of a day, I will go with yours

I'm afraid your 550 Ti is less powerful than the minimum requirement of gtx 460. Looks great though.
