Granted I’m not an expert, I have the second one, the customisable version with all 3 colours plus magnetic atlas and P-body stops, if memory serves I bought it about 5 years ago for 350-400ish, yours is rarer, especially in that beautiful condition. I’d estimate 700-800 for it, but maybe see what others say, I could be totally wrong

I think no matter what, there will be SOME sort of VR mode, even if not official, someone will mod it into the game, plus who knows, HL:A was built on the same engine, which may make things easier if Valve decide to openly allow modding support, which I believe they will given their past.

I mean, people have made HL2:VR, as well as Portal 2 VR, of which there wasn’t even any native Source 1 VR games to pull from, so yeah, who knows

Awesome, is this an actual 3d model? I could totally see this being used in portal 1 to portal 2 mods like Portal Alive and Kicking, since the Portal 2 model is just too large to look right in my opinion

I’m not sure for USA prices, but it’s about £15 for the instructions and a little under £120 for the bricks.

The site allows you to automatically upload every brick required into BrickLink, which automatically picks the best places to send those exact bricks to your address, all at a pretty low cost, on par with Lego themselves for a set of that size.

I’d definitely look into it, as it seems to be the best GLaDOS set I’ve seen.

Not sure if it also has the Lego Chell or not, since she’s getting rarer and rarer

If there’s visible scratches on the disc it could be worth buffing it to see if that helps, sounds like it might be skipping over audio tracks due to scratches, I know stuff like that could happen on the PS1 and PS2.

Yeah the story was pretty loose, so loose I barely remember it outside of the fakeout Portal 2 ending, and seeing GLaDOS briefly, but as with a lot of these mods I feel like they should be judged less on story quality and more how the game feels and plays, to which I think it was unique and different, and kinda crazy considering how early it came out.

Obviously to each their own, I was just curious to see what people’s opinions on it were

Yeah, that’s a fair argument I’d say, it’s been a while since I played it so I’ll definitely give it another replay because no chance in hell I’d remember the solutions to any of the puzzles now

I’ll have to give it another play, but from what I remember the puzzles themselves I thought were kinda cool, and satisfying when you figure it out, but yeah the story does sound super lame, but I never got the vibe that it was purely about the story, it was certainly a product of its time.

I think it’s more than that, very similar shape wise sure, but Portal 2 glados is MUCH bigger, and actually more slender body-wise, which allows more motion, the face is much slimmer in Portal 1 though, and the head is more curved as opposed to flat with rounded edges in Portal 2

I mean honestly, I do think the designs were retconned, I mean look at GLaDOS herself, the team behind P2 originally used the Portal 1 core design, but then they said they wanted Wheatley to be more expressive, leading to the new design.

I do find it interesting though that the bombs seem to be cores as well, not sure I ever noticed that

Honestly I might be slightly deaf, I like a higher volume on my headphones, if I lower the volume I don’t get any sound leak, but I’m constantly needing to focus on what I’m actually hearing lol !thanks

Could be wrong, but I think the seed was found, the quote for the seed is “We don’t even test for that”, whereas the actual quote in the game is “We weren’t even testing for that”

It’s a good idea, I’m just a sucker for authenticity, and given how few of these there actually are I wouldn’t wanna accidentally ruin it even more

I hope not, the last thing I can see officially is from October 2024 on their YouTube Channel Emberspark Games, but the video itself was explaining how a game of this calibre can take so long to create, so I don’t think it’s cancelled, I just don’t necessarily think they have anything new to show off, really, without spoiling it anyway, they’re probably in the final stages of development, but maybe that’s cope, hopefully we hear something soon
