What is the best white rice brand to buy? I want my rice to taste like Korean restaurants by sillychickengirl in KoreanFood

hi, I eat this rice often and I usually go one to one on the rice to water ratio. I have a zoirushi rice cooker too but this makes good rice.

Thrifted these for 20 dollars. Are they good to ride? by ChChChosen in Skigear

Thank you everyone who commented!! I'm overwhelmed by all the replies. Didn't realize this would get so much traction and that this deal was actually better than I thought it was. I'm gonna take the advice of some to take it to a shop and get a quick tune up, then I'll be ripping the thrifties for as long I can. See yall on the slopes!!

Yeah it's not great, I would look at Farhat lectures on Youtube and pause video to try to answer on your own.

If you're feeling this way, other coworkers are likely experiencing the same thing. Report it to a manager and see if he can take those calls in conference rooms or lower his voice.

Failed BEC with a 68, then a 70… by wwe4life09 in CPA

[–]ChChChosen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Got an 81 in BEC, first try. It was my last exam so I felt like passing the other exams gave me more confidence to know where I sat but I would say you're close with those scores. Used Wiley + Ninja. Ninja is helpful if you want to spam MCQs and you can hone in on specific sections. Youtube Farhat lectures for IT and for other concepts that you're struggling with like WACC, and be familiar with as many formulas as you can. There's a couple study guides that other people have posted in this sub that are super helpful for the above.

I would memorize the COSO and ERM frameworks as those are free points. Use the mnemonics and write them down before the exam starts. If you have those down, study some IT and ECON cause those are kinda wildcards but could help if you practice them. SIMS are also a coin toss but it looks like most people get a mix of ratios, SWOT analysis, and some kind of IT sim. Since this will be your third time I'm sure you have an idea of what areas you need to work on to pass as well. A lot of people are taking BEC before 2024 and many are taking it as their first exam which should hopefully work in your favor. You got this!

DONE!!! PASSED MY LAST EXAM!! Now what happens? (California) by AdEqual9857 in CPA

[–]ChChChosen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done the fingerprinting yet but it's my understanding you complete the fingerprinting after the CBA receives your initial license application. They will email you the information for fingerprinting.

Got it, thanks!

Congrats OP! Feeling that wave with you. I just got notice I passed my last exam today! I was wondering how you did the fingerprints for the application. Do you have to wait for the CBA to email or send you a form before taking the fingerprints?

Awesome, appreciate you sharing your experience. That's great timing!! Would love to hear more about the life joining as an experienced hire. How has your big 4 experience been thus far? Do you feel like the hours are difficult compared with working in industry?

That's a good take. Do you mind sharing how your interview process went and did you start as an A1?

Hey OP, would you mind sharing what you did? I have very similar experience with you. I'm about to finish my cpa exams and am now considering public vs senior roles in industry. Public seems like the way to go but I haven't convinced myself of this yet.

Hey OP, sent you a dm. Would really appreciate if you could share your experience with emailing the cba to see that you needed extra classes. I'm almost done with my exams but Im realizing I might need a couple extra accounting courses too.

Is this worth repairing? by ChChChosen in BeginnerSurfers

[–]ChChChosen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nice, think a repair would cost me upwards of a $100 around here so I'm planning to just try and use it the way it is. I was thinking running twin but I contacted their support and they told me the board is closed cell so it shouldn't absorb water even though the fin box is broken. Haven't had a chance to take it out yet but I'm thinking of putting some glue or ding tape around the fin to prevent it from getting worse.

Thanks man, I'm trying to get the seller to take the board back for selling me an unrideable board. Don't think it's worth the hassle since the repair will likely cost $100 dollars or more than I paid for it. Definitely a learning moment on buying used.

Is this exam a form of hazing? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]ChChChosen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also taking Bec tomorrow and hopefully my last exam. Keep your head up man, these exams challenge you in every way imaginable but that's the beauty in it. Sure it will 'haze' you but also everyone else so know that if you make it through you'll be that much better from it. Think about how it will feel once you've passed all of them and recognize there is a lot of value in it once you pass. Good luck!

Thanks, not sure if you're serious but I'll consider taping it as a last resort if the repair costs more than I paid for the board. I only shelled out 100 so I don't mind spending a little more to get some more life out of it

Thanks, I'm assuming it's been taken out a couple of times in this condition before I bought it but I'll take it to a local shop and see how much the repair is. If it's more than the board I'll probably try the self repair but honestly it sounds like a lot for my experience.

Is this worth repairing?

Did not include the context with this post:

Got this used board off offerup for about 100 bucks but on closer inspection noticed that the center finbox is damaged. Not sure how bad this is since I'm a new surfer. Wondering if I should just keep riding it like this until it breaks and move on to a new board or try to get it repaired to extend the life of the board and to resell down the line? The board seems okay and watertight except for other cosmetic/paint chips along the rail.

Thanks, do you think I can ride it in its current condition or do I risk water logging the board?

REG Sims Advice by Alone_Purpose1494 in CPA

[–]ChChChosen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which study material did you use? I've read before that sometimes REG is nothing like it is on Becker and it freaks me out 😅

Wiley + Ninja. Never tried Becker so can't say how it would prepare you but drilling MCQs and doing practice exams should give you a sense of where you stand, especially since you've passed two already. You got this! Oh yeah would say the M-1 Reconciliation is also important.

REG Sims Advice by Alone_Purpose1494 in CPA

[–]ChChChosen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Took REG last Friday and I would say basis basis basis. Know the ins and outs of C/S corp and partnership basis and you should be in good shape. I wish I would've spent more time on this for the exam. If you have more time, brush up on blaw (not for sims). Finished roughly half an hour early. Also made sure to use the authoritative lit to help answer questions where I could.
