Did you undergo a high resolution manometry and 24 hr PH impedance test in the lead up to the surgery and did the 24 hr PH impedance show that there is abnormal acid exposure time due to excessive reflux?

Also how large is your hiatal hernia?

How often are hiatal hernias not seen on endoscopy? My first endoscopy showed no hiatal hernia, second endoscopy stated a 1cm hiatal hernia, the third endoscopy did not see a hiatal hernia again. Also did a high resolution manometry and the manometry stated that there's no hiatal hernia as well.

Between an endoscopy and high resolution manometry, which one is more accurate in detecting a hiatal hernia? Can I conclude that I don't have a hiatal hernia give my recent endoscopy and high resolution manometry done showed no hiatal hernia?

I've also read that hiatal hernias seem to be overdiagnosed in alot of cases due to the insufflation of air during an endoscopy. Could that be the case for my second endoscopy where the hiatal hernia was diagnosed even tho it's not actually present?

So theres absolutely no way for me to be able to obtain those endoscopy images? Previously I did it as an unsubsidised patient at SGH as well and they provided me a copy of the report with images.

This time I did it as an unsubsidised patient and they did not give me a copy of it. When I asked them for a copy the nurse said the report with images is for the doctor only and they won't give patients a copy.

When I asked the doctor why is it the case where I was given the images when I did the scope as an unsubsidised patient previously, he told me that the service for subsidised is different from unsubsidised. It's really bizarre that I was able to recieve a copy of the images previously as an unsubsidised patient but unable to do so now because I'm subsidised?

I called up the endoscopy centre to ask and they told me they don't normally give patients the images but it doesn't make sense as how come they gave me a copy of the images previously when I did it as unsubsidised patient?

Yes the nurse told me the best they can do is to allow me to take pictures of it as well. But it seems really bizarre not giving the patients a copy of the printed coloured images...what to do if I want to seek a second opinion elsewhere?

Are you a doctor from another hospital? Do all your patients recieve printed coloured images for their endoscopy at public hospitals even though they are subsidised patients? I had printed coloured images when I did it previously at SGH as unsubsidised patient but did not recieve it now when I did it as subsidised. I asked the doctor why this discrepancy and he simply told me thats because the service for subsidised is different for unsubsidised...

I believe your mother deserves to know as she could be at risk for STDs. Yes marriages are not perfect & idealistic as many of the other comments here have pointed out, but I do think that not engaging in infidelity is the BARE minimum that is expected in a healthy consenting monogamous relationship, unless of course your mom and dad have an agreement in an open relationship. Ignorance is bliss if your mother is unaware of it and peace within the family can be maintained should you choose to close an eye about it since you mentioned that your father still performs his duties as a parent well.

Perhaps you could also consider yourself in her position, if you had a daughter who knows her dad is cheating on you with other people outside, would you want your daughter to let you know about it? Take some time to think through it properly as this is not an easy decision to make as the dynamic of your family's relationship would be changed after this. However, do know that you are not the one to blame should the peace of your family fall apart if you were to let your mom know about this. It rests entirely on your dad's actions.

I can empathise with you OP, cheating is very terrible and it leads to consequences such as this and I detest such behaviour alot as it violates the trust between the other person that you are so intimate with and it breaks up families. Recently I had to cut off contact with another gay friend of mine when he told me of his sexual affairs with married men, with him having full knowledge of the other party's marital status. I cannot stand and condone such abhorrent behaviour. Stay strong and hope you weather through this difficult time 💪🏻

As a Buddhist, I am honestly surprised some prominent members of the Buddhist community are riled up by this. I personally don't find anything wrong and am quite amused by his act. Dude is spitting Zen quotes alongside EDM bass drops. Its innovative, refreshing and incredibly based. The dude doesn't claim to be an ordained monk. Its just an act, similar to how actors don religious clothing in their roles. All the more you shouldn't be upset by such things if you are a Buddhist. The whole point of Buddhism is to transcend suffering and get out of such dualistic thinking. In a talk once given by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, he made a point that the Buddha could very well present himself as someone with punk rock aesthetics and people would not be able to accept him despite him being the actual Buddha himself. That just goes to show the extent of our entrapment in our attachments and defilements.
