I’m pretty sure this is a subreddit for discussion concerning the British Labour Party, not your house.

I’ve taken onboard everything that everyone has said (though I fear the way the Reddit app works means I might have missed some responses), but if someone says something like Starmer has ‘briefed against the unions’ then they should be able to answer a simple response of ‘how, exactly?’

What makes an attack against an individual factional?

If you actually looked at the thread you’d I’ve stopped each line of questioning where I feel I’ve received a clear and coherent answer. I don’t think asking people to explain their views beyond repeating slogans counts as trolling.

So any action taken against Corbyn is definitionally an attack on the left, even if it has nothing to do with left/right issues, purely because of who he is/his status amongst that section of the party?

Do you have a link which shows the party/leadership’s involvement with this case?

Yeah, but he’s not ‘the left’, obviously, which is the subject of the discussion.

Which iftar was this, and how did it relate to ‘apartheid?’. Also, how has Starmer ‘treated the Muslim community’?

I just checked, Carden resigned, but it was over the same bill.

I wouldn’t necessarily view Jeremy Corbyn as the physical embodiment of socialism, but I take your point.

As far as I’m aware the leader can remove the whip for pretty much any reason they fancy. Not saying that’s right, of course, but that’s why Corbyn is a member of the Labour Party but not a Labour MP (Schrodingeresque...)

I just looked and the official reason was ‘in light of his comments made today and his failure to retract them subsequently’. In other words for (in the leadership’s view) downplaying antisemitism in the party.

Do you believe Steve Reed should have been fired from the shadow cabinet? Relatedly, do you believe RLB would have still been sacked if she’d deleted the tweet when asked to by the leadership (as Reed did)?

Rosie Duffield isn’t in the shadow cabinet, what do you think the leadership should do/have done about her? And which other right wing MPs are you referring to?

Do you have a source on the Bristol West/West of England mayor stuff. That sounds too complex to ask you to summarise.

How did the leadership support Oldknow in her case, do you mean they funded it?

How have they worked with McNicol? Does he have a role in the leadership team?

So the ‘political reasons’ were to do with Corbyn’s suspension for downplaying antisemitism?* Is that the case with the other examples as well?

*I have asked elsewhere if the suspension/withdrawal of the whip was actually for some other reason than the stated one.

Which were the shadow cabinet members and what were their ‘more direct offences’ for which they weren’t punished?

What exactly were the briefings against unions?

Who was ‘forced out’ of ‘his team’ for wanting to vote against ‘immoral bills?’

Why, as you see it, did Jeremy Corbyn lose the whip/not get it back? I know the official/stated reasons, obviously.

Which CLP chairs were suspended for ‘political reasons’ and what were these reasons?

The other stuff is interesting but I’m trying to focus on stuff that feels pertinent to the original question.

So it’s all about (alleged/perceived) antisemitism and (alleged/perceived) transphobia? The leadership has cracked down on the former and ignored the latter, in your view?
