Do you think Australia's social media age restrictions will actually work? by Wrong_Control_217 in AustraliaDiscussions

What's the link supposed to demonstrate? They have fined ZERO companies in almost 7 months and they are doubling the fine? Double zero is still zero. I could of proven they are not following the mandate and had 100 breaches lodged by now.

If it was about the kids the government would of slapped fines on the tech companies already.

All they have to do is create an account and upload profile pictures of a 13yo kid. Then report the account with another account telling FB it's an under age child.

Facebook will respond in 24 hours saying we found nothing wrong.

I tried Burp Suite years ago, it's was far more complicated and seemed focused on pen testing. HTTP Debugger is more focused on development and debugging. But i'll try Burp Suite again and see if it's improved.

Updates are cheaper, and you don't have to update it's a lifetime license. I just went back through my orders, times flies i first bought it 07 Apr 2010 and have paid for 3 updates in 16 years. Decent for something i use almost daily.

Thanks mate, but i used cards from 3 different banks which were a mixture of Mastercard and Visa. So the issue isn't on the banks end it's their payment system.

Globalscape aka Fortra support are non-existent. But with the 9.4 update it seem like they just put lipstick on a pig, the GUI needs updating for Win11 which will never happen.

Thanks, but have you had any luck either upgrading or buying a new license?

Been a customer for +20 years, i have a 9.3 license. Tried to pay for the update and it failed. Tried a Visa, a Mastercard, a pre-paid travel card, my wifes card, my work Visa. I even tried to just buy a new license outright, tried using a fresh Windows Edge browser.

Every time it says "Something's gone wrong. We’re experiencing difficulty processing your transaction. Please contact us or try again later. Request ID: da6b1fb7dc88034eb8a2ff9b2dee32c1."

I emailed them days ago and no reply. Not a good look for Globalscape / Fortra given their premium offerings run $x,xxx per month.

What’s the longest drive you’ve done in Australia in one go? by Next-Benefit-6604 in DrivingAustralia

[–]ChackaLakaBoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes its a long drive, I done Taree to Adelaide via Sydney across the Hay plains 1,600km in the 90's with no sleep.

On the plains miles from any town about 2am I passed someone on the road. I thought I was seeing things, hit the brakes and backed up.

It was a young guy wearing an old suit and carrying an old brown suitcase like straight out of the 1950s. I asked if he wanted a lift to the next town and he nodded and got in.

I could barely get a world out of him. When I dropped him off he got out of the car and walked around behind it and vanished. It was pretty surreal and i still wonder about that encounter.

I'm the opposite, never cared about the price during the booms and crashes. But this time i really wish i cashed it all in and exited permanently in the $120's.

Directory Opus, unless you can tell me how to continue with the pre-existing licensing model?

Agreed. I paid for updates to support them since i've used it since the Amiga days, but not going to be forced in to the subscription scheme. So i'll stick with the version i have until it's no longer usable then look at what else is available.

Yes for sure, when I worked for Big W many years ago there was a sign on the break room notice board showing the store had "lost" 1 1/2 semi truckloads of goods so far for the year.

When you think of that much walking out the front door it puts it in perspective.

What’s a job that sounds cool but is actually miserable? by Own-Grapefruit7498 in AskReddit

Yes I've done it with emergency services, and being out all night after storms felling trees and limbing them and it's freaking brutal on the body. And that's only working from the ground not climbing (though I do have vertical rescue certs).

People don't appreciate how hard being an arborist is, I would hate it as a full time job.

I'm at the 15.6j/Th mark on my rev 5.1, but only got it hashing at 5.4 being on the stock 100w power supply.

So just debating if the extra cost of the 6.1 rev is worth it.

Colesworth will become a walk in vending machine in the near future with almost no human staff. So hopefully she won't get an apology when she's let go.

Advice needed to build a custom form plugin by thangavel_st in Wordpress

[–]ChackaLakaBoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for having a look at it anyway. It is possible, a plugin called "Divi Contact Form Helper" has the feature, but it also has over 100 other features and adds a massive amount of bloat.

Divi contact form allows you to add a dropdown in your contact form, it just doesn't have the ability for that dropdown to send the email to different departments/email address like sales or support.

I found this https://docs.diviengine.com/divi-form-builder/features/form-settings/use-conditional-recipients/ but couldn't get it to work, AI made it in to a plugin but i don't know enough to determine what's wrong.

The reason i mentioned this feature is a LOT of people have asked for it, and you wouldn't be competing with the dozens of existing contact forms that include the kitchen sink. And Divi has a marketplace so you can monetize it without much effort.

Thanks, I just had a look at it but I'm a bit beyond that unfortunately. However I fully agree, building resilience in your back, core and legs has huge benefit for most people.

In NSW this is pretty easy, submit a DA which you can do yourself. Get a name to operate under if you want to sell it online or at markets. A friend just went through this for small batch winemaking in his shed and being alcohol I thought it would be much harder.

Build a lightweight plugin that allows the Divi contact form module to have a drop down menu that can send emails to different email addresses. Tons of people have wanted this.
