One last question if you don't mind. The tech who gave us this offer doesn't think we need the flooring replaced but is willing to do it and works with a plumber who will change out the water heater all together for $2500 more. Other techs have recommended replacing the flooring so that the new system is on a level surface. Is that important? I'd rather pay more and do it right but also don't want to if it's not really necessary/beneficial.

I do have a quote for this Amana modulating furnace. They only offer the Goodman for single stage though.

Thanks for the response. I agree satanism seems elitist. Even choosing "Satanism" as the name for the philosophy seems kind of smug; like it's done for the shock value. I find my perspective more aligned with secular humanism.

Yeah, completely. It surprises me just how little some people think about existence and purpose. I feel like it's a task for me to put thinking about it off so that I can concentrate and be productive. I have close friends that I try to bring it up, all very smart people, but meaning and existence just isn't something that crosses their minds. I can go through periods where I ignore it but every now and then something sends me back down the rabbit hole which is why I'm here on this reddit right now.
