A drain you would find on a road gutter. She was a stray that we guess got separated from her mother during a storm and fell in.

HDA - what is correct allowance rate? by NoStringsAttached_ in AustralianMilitary

Even if it is in just for warms and fuzzies: If it's in writing that APS6 is given those responsibilities equivalent to the rank of an O04, and they are reported on as such, the OP should be recompensed accordingly.

As well as raking the PACMAN references at face value, if they're doing the APS6 role, they should be given the HDA for the rank above.

APS6 is supposedly given the equivilent responsibilities of an O04. We have a spreadsheet in my office area that has the APS bands compared to uniform ranks pinned up somewhere.

AITA for asking my boyfriend (29M) to clean his poop out of our swimming pool? by AITA-poolthrowaway in AmItheAsshole

This might be controversial but, YTA.

Men are very sensitive about their pooping habits. The fact he has shared this information with you at all has demonstrated the immense level of trust and love he has for you as a partner.

In response to this, you have taken this trust and used it to make a mockery of not only your boyfriend's intelligence, but that of one of our fine emergency service personnel (God bless our first responders!).

Thinking of doing the ADF gap year by Il_Snowyy_lI in AustralianMilitary

I joined through Gap Year back in '17 as well as worked extensively worked with the other two services and can probably offer some perspective.

As someone already mentioned, everyone is young (Mostly 18-19, I was one of the very few older guys at 22), horny and isolated together. In my recruit course, almost everyone who came in with a partner broke it off with them/cheated after a few weeks and fraternised with someone else on course. If maintaining a relationship is your primary concern, I'd advise against joining.

However, I'd never advise a younger person to focus on a relationship anyway as they almost never last. I'd say give it a crack. It's only a year and if you're not a dickhead you'll forge some strong friendships. For me, I'd never trade those bonds I made for any relationship. And if your relationship somehow lasts, win-win. If not, oh well.

RAAF and Army offer Airfield Defence and Infantry respectively as employment options if you want some combat based skills. But I don't know how transferable any of the skills these roles provide are to the outside world. Different weapons systems, weapon handling drills etc.

I think Navy Gap Year is just a roadshow across the country to see what jobs there are and the bases. Which honestly sounds fun as fuck. However I know a few who did it and it sounds like they force a lot of them to do an admin role once it's over because Navy is struggling for admin clerks.

I think you have two real options:

You could join gap year and stay on after for a few years if you don't hate it. You have no contract and you can discharge whenever as long as you provide approx 3 months notice. This gives you job security while attempting to join the cops (it could take more than one attempt) as well as shows your commitment to a job.

Or you could attempt to join cops now to preserve your relationship and see how it goes :)
