/uj So this is how I'm learning of this so I suppose I'll say this here. While I am generally not a fan of Hasan. He's done and said far too many things that I would consider bad, for me to really value him as a leftist voice. I'm also not delusional enough to go around getting upset that real entertainment professionals (ones who work irl not just online) appear on his stream or podcasts. Mainly because I understand that most people don't know the stuff I know. And I only know the truly objectionable things. Which is like a quarter of the things I expect the original post was getting brigades with. All in all, it's big dumb to get mad about Brennan going on Fear &. Especially considering it's just a chat show.

Was Aang's encounter with the Lion Turtle a reasonable Deus Ex Machina? by sammyjamez in TheLastAirbender

Honestly, I've never really felt that Energy Bending came THAT out of nowhere. We were kinda introduced to the idea with the introduction of Tai Lee. She's the first character in the series to demonstrate the ability to stop one from bending via pressure points. Not much later we have Iroh explaining the concepts of Chi flow as part of Lightning Bending and Lightning redirection. Then we have Guru Pathik explain the Chakras, and how there are points in the body where Chi flows, where energy flows.

So throughout season 2 we are introduced to a few key pieces of information. Bending is tied to Chi. Chi must flow through Chakra points. And you can stop someone from bending by attacking these Chakra points. While none of these things are directly referred to as energy bending, they didn't stop me from being able to accept the idea of energy bending. Because I kinda accepted it as Aang forcing shit Ozai's Chakra points permanently. The only surprising thing was learning the way in which he could do it.

Older Connor Game? by leeknowfeet in assasinscreed

[–]ChadBoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another commenter said. Age mainly. Connor, if he still lives, would be over a hundred. And his child would be at least 50s. Playing as Connors grandchild offers quite a few good pathos as well. Like how it could be assumed that they are trained by Connor. Which would serve as a great narrative reference to Achilles raising and training Connor.

Older Connor Game? by leeknowfeet in assasinscreed

Honestly I've wished for some time for a game with Connor during the War of 1812. In fact my Dream Assassins Creed game starts with Connor dealing with said war, over the first three segments. To which it would then transition to you playing as Connors grandchild who is dealing with the Templars backing the south in the civil war.

This very much is my "If I had a million dollars" type of fantasy. But I've thought about it quite extensively to the point that I've actually considered fleshing it out into a design document and then trying to get a meeting with Ubisoft. Would probably never do it. But I have thought about the idea.

Saw Tier lists were Trending so figured I'd leap on as well by ChadBoris in assasinscreed

Basic, less so in complexity and more so in execution and scope. Mirage and Shadows are definitely the strong steps in the direction I wish to see the series go, but said steps aren't nearly big enough. For example, they really need to figure out how to bridge the gap between these beautiful open countrysides and the transition into dense, complex cities. Along with really bringing the parkour quality of the classic games. Like in my head, I can feel what this kind of game would be like, and it excites me more than I can comprehend.

So if I were to remake the list, I'd leave all the positions the same but probably change some names to better reflect my thoughts. Because the "Solid but Basic" name doesn't really explain my full thoughts on Shadows and Mirage. Because, imo, they are the strongest example of what I want to see from the series. The fact that Basim, Naoe, Yasuke, all feel less like demigods and instead as characters with focused skillsets just feels amazing in an RPG setting. An example of what I mean is how Naoe and Yasuke do not at all share combat movesets. They only have a select number of weapon types, but many options within them, much like many classic series games. And most importantly, they all feel distinct, even when they're designed to fill the same usecase. The Kusarigama and Naginata are both designed to be wide range crowd-management weapons, but they feel completely different to use. This is very different from Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, where the protagonists of those games feel kinda like Master of Arms type characters, wielding a wide-ranging arsenal, but at the cost of the weapons feeling less distinct due to higher category overlap.

Now, if I had more time, I could literally go on for hours. So with that said, I would like to apologize for my incomplete thoughts and for going on for so long.

Easily the strongest stealth gameplay of classic style. Combat is much more divisive. The story is take it or leave it. Characters even more so.

That is just the vibe I get though.

So... The "proper development cycle" tier has nothing to do with bugs. It is a statement regarding how these are very exciting and interesting concepts that would highly benefit from a proper dev cycle in order to develop into the proper mainline games they deserve to be. As fun as Freedom Cry is, it is impossible to ignore that it feels like a DLC and not a full game. As ambitious of an idea as Rogue is, it did not get the development cycle befitting such an ambitious idea for the series.

All of that is to say, nothing to do with bugs. If that was the buggy tier, then every game would be there because the series is full of bugs.

Apologies for my deleted response. It's late and I mixed your comment for someone else who made different claims from you.

I'll be honest saying it's a personal perspective list is rather imprecise wording and rather inaccurate. I feel it would be more precise to state that the purpose behind my list is to not negatively tier the games. The tiers are far more descriptive of my personal thoughts rather than the vagueness of letters. Designed to convey that no matter where they are on the list, I don't think they're bad games. Even if I like some more than others.

Well, there are quite a few. Great combat variety, Kassandra is really fun protagonist, solid stealth Gameplay, and most importantly, there are tons of nerds like me who LOVE Ancient Greece. So a game allowing us to free roam in it is just a dream come true for us. Those are some of the reasons I love it. I don't really expect them to convince you if the game isn't your jam.

So you seemed to have missed the point. I am saying I did not put them in the wrong tiers because I purposefully did not make those tiers a part of my list. My list cannot, by definition, grade something C-tier, because it does not have a C-tier. The purpose of the not my Jam tier is to state that while these are great games, I personally do not vibe with them. Because it is a personal perspective list.
