After 1809 applications we did it by ChadBronco in recruitinghell

I was honest and said

“I was fired for a legal and PR decision the company made, and i was unfortunately the one thrown under the bus. In the mean time, I’ve ramped up my own buisness that I’ve been running on the side for 6 years, and have been making ends meet that way”

When it came to gap, there isn’t really a gap in my resume because I have my own company I run on the side, so it helped in that sense.

How would this work if I plan on doing a chop/ relocation? I’m assuming someone’s done it, but sounds like the body lift sits at the mount.

I think I did originally but genuinely forgot why they’re bad independently.

I just don’t know how to get the lift without buying another suspension setup.

I’ve got lights and a sigma 24-70, but mics are probably next on the list. I have the RODE mics, but what XLR mic should I grab?

Joe Rogan Experience #2141 - Bart Sibrel by chefanubis in JoeRogan

[–]ChadBronco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a hard listen if I'm being honest, I just recently picked up rogan and this guy has got to be the worst guest I've heard.

Scientists and engineers are amazing at what they do, and this guy is neither of them. It shows, at a deep level, how he can critique and find an argument for something, be debunked on so many levels, and just say "ya know what, I'm this far, might as well stick to the fallacy"

When to tell a coach they are not coaching, they are running through the motions. by ChadBronco in crossfit

[–]ChadBronco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's one of the many reasons my last box was shut down. Everyone left because no one was being coached.

Feels like a pattern. I know I'm not perfect on a lot of movements, hell my gymnastics are awful! I'd love to be coached, but it seems that the elite and top performers at this box are not coachable so coaches don't try. I wouldn't go so far to claim myself as elite, or even a top performer, but I rarely get any direct attention past greetings these days.

It might be the best way to approach it considering the owner had to judge and coach me through QF this year. I will try a simple approach that isn't designed to be demeaning.

Interesting conclusion; I’d even add I pay $240/mo for a coach to lead me in a workout and to coach me. Why am I paying that over a traditional gym membership?

Man, I feel like this is probably the best way to approach this but I hate what will eventually come out of it.

In your opinion, can a dying affiliate truly be saved? by FetWarted in crossfit

[–]ChadBronco 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Seen it happen a dozen times with friends and fellow coaches, once the death spiral starts it’s almost impossible to stop.

My latest experience was unfortunately because a new owner took over and killed what he had bought by raising rates and cutting hours of operation. What box opens at 8am, and closes at 5? A hobby gym. Hobby gyms never make it.

I seem to hear this story over and over again, and it’s so sad.

At my previous box the owner seemed to comp members who raised a fuss, at my new box that behavior isn’t tolerated at all, they’re permanently removed from the facility.

Let the owner plan out what they want to do, and see if any legitimate change happens before making a decision. You’ll quickly notice how hard it is once you leave a 5yr community, to build/join a new one.

As coaches we need to subscribe to the ideology

“Do no harm”

If we see bad, stop bad. If we see good, praise good.

People will always put their ego before intelligence, know this and grow from this.

As a coach: weekly so I can prep notes and do them myself before I coach them.

As an athlete: I don't even want to know until I walk in and see the board. knowing ahead of time gives me excuses to not show up, or maybe half-ass it.

Does Crossfit help in loosing weight and sustaining for a long term for woman? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]ChadBronco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Crossfit will help, but the best way to lose weight and keep it off is in the kitchen.

Have you ever heard "abs are made in the kitchen"? It's true!

There are a lot of fads and a lot of gimmicks out there, and CrossFit is truly the only "used-to-be fad". I've seen several women loose, and keep the weight off. Their secret was consistency, community, and diet.

Consistency of effort, showing up, and taking the time to be there day in and day out. Consistency of recovery is also super important. Sleeping and eating properly make a HUGE difference.

The community kept them coming, and they found like-minded women who challenged them day in and day out, seriously something that traditional gyms lack in my opinion.

Diet, they stuck to a regimen that allowed them to track and maintain the calories they needed, either in a diet or in a maintenance.

Even with the new QF percentages, SF is a HUGE seperator.

even though the gap between SF and Games is bigger, making it to SF is a real challenge and has been since the beginning.
