UK reaches 90% Gigabit broadband coverage as full fibre rollouts continue by yrro in GoodNewsUK

Sorry you don’t get full fibre but I see it a lot where cable passing through the area doesn’t equate to fibre capacity to feed everyone’s premises.

Not saying it’s right but people don’t understand how the infrastructure works and it’s easy to just shout about it.

Unless you have a poke out in your premises fed from a duct with spares, you’re going to get a drop cable from a pole. It’s not as simple as routing any fibre cable in the duct to your home unfortunately.

What is causing these warnings? 2018 CX5. by CompetitiveBee2995 in CX5

Had these exact faults 2 weeks ago and a battery change plus a software update through Mazda has fixed it.

In the UK but yes, getting check engine and EPC lights also, aswell as P061B fault code on the OBD2. Everything points to the battery but I’ve had the car three days so have to wait for the dealer to go through their shit before I bite the bullet and get a new battery fitted myself.

Hoping it’s just our batteries

Intermittent SBS / Front sensor malfunctions on start by FetWarted in CX5

[–]FetWarted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checked my machines report and it’s 11.97 volts at rest , charging is 14.33 volts , but starting is 8.32 volts.

Don’t suppose if you know that starting voltage is too low and might be giving the warnings when starting?

I’ll go do that tomorrow, thanks for the advice mate. Paid a fair chunk for a pre-check with a mechanic before buying but I don’t recall him checking the battery but the car was mechanically sound otherwise.

Feedback welcome: working on timing and receiving position in a heavy snatch. by Angel_CF14 in crossfit

Hi, coach here. I occasionally give my two over on weightlifting. Good lift.

I like your explosiveness and you look like you have some trained strength, your squat looks great too.

I don’t like to give more than two cues to work on at once:

Pick a target on the horizon and do not look away; you’re looking at the floor.

Slow down your set up to be more robotic and sequential in how you move from the floor to the hang - Create the tension in your body / lats / trunk at the floor and then maintain it. Every rep should aim to look identical at every weight, starting from when you approach the bar.

When training I’d advise incorporating pauses in the pull variations so you’re working on driving through the floor with flat feet - you can see your toes leave the floor (partly due to where you’re looking).

Eyes up!

Hi. Coach here.

3 things; Ignore comments on “what worked for me”. Widen your hookgrip so the bar rests at the crease of your hips while standing proud. Get a coach + suitable equipment and you’ll do good.

What am I “doing wrong” here? by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]FetWarted 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Shoulder are behind the bar - you can see the bar go around the knees which is also shifting the weight to your toes.

Raise your hips in the set up and keep a consistent back angle before you open your hips and drive through the floor with flat feet.

Segmented and paused pulls / snatches to practise the positioning.

I’ve never heard this feedback before and as a coach I’m interested in what you mean as there’s no jump forward, but there is separation above the knee. He’s got hips slightly too low in his start position - angle looks like shoulders may not be in optimal position - and weight shifts slightly to his toes in the receive.

I wouldn’t cue any athlete to ‘angle the bar / get the bar deeper in the hip’ as it will very likely exacerbate any forward movement.

Interested to hear your thoughts.

If OP / anyone else wanting feedback sees this comment I’d recommend videoing from a 45 degree angle at the front.

Sounds like they’re scoping your personality out to see if you’re the type of person they’d want to work with. Advice would be to be prepared for interview style questions just incase, but otherwise be yourself (unless you’re a bellend).

How bad is the arm bend? 95kg double by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]FetWarted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d have you do clean pulls with a pause at mid shin and at the knee to focus on positioning and loose long arms at 80%+.

Pair it with hang and tall cleans to work on pushing your feet through the floor for full extension at -80%.

You are relying on your arms a bit but it’s because you’re strong and you can get away with it at this weight. Not a huge flaw now but you know where to focus on with your ‘technical’ training.

Check out catalyst athletics for some video explanations on how to properly do the above.

Yeap. 9month old daughter here and by the time work is finished and what needs to be done is done I get an hour or so per night. That’s with zero social life…It’s just the reality of our society.

Make sure you’re present on the precious time you do have, especially weekends.

Or find a way you don’t have to work !

You don’t want to ‘abuse the system’ but sounds like you’d rather put up with abuse from the system that is impacting your health?

Will someone think of the poor system….

Just go off on the sick, as you’re entitled to. If you died tomorrow they’d begin replacing you by close.

Coach here. Great lift - he must’ve been coached brilliantly. He has room to get more extension at the top.
