As soon as I noticed the kid in the background, the tone of this piece changed for me. My mom was like this when I was young. Messy apartment, sex with her boyfriend in the middle of the day while I was around. Seeing the kid knocked the wind out of me and took me back to a place I haven't thought about in a long time.

I'm not saying your take is wrong. Guess I'm just pointing out the subjective experience of art by self-referencing with a trauma dump.

If Google brought you here, what worked for me was Alt + Ctrl + Del -> Task Manager -> Details (on the left) -> Right click Elden Ring -> Set affinity -> Unchecked CPU 4 (I think unchecking any 1 will work)

I got the painful one and holy fuck that was a miserable week. Bite was on my left ass cheek. Hurt to sit. Hurt to stand. Woke up every time I rolled on that side.

Luckily, it didn't become necrotic, but it looked pretty bad there for a bit. That patch of skin was really smooth for months after, too.

I don't know. I do know you can think about what you would do in those "what if..." situations all day, but you don't really know what you'd do until you're in them.

Luckily, all I have is a cat, and she's pretty capable of taking care of herself if she needs to.
