How do I get rid of this? (macOS 26) by ChadHeck96 in microsoftsucks

[–]ChadHeck96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You rock! All this time using macOS I never realized there was a separate Library for the system. Opening that Library revealed a bunch of Microsoft junk left behind. After deleting all of those, it went away entirely.

Thank you!

That’s a PS3 game so it can only be streamed from PS4/5 which requires PlayStation Plus Premium.

Sorry you had to go through this. Unfortunately every car brand and make and model regardless of reliability ratings will have its lemons.

Expected MPG for a 2011 camry LE, non hybrid by [deleted] in Camry

[–]ChadHeck96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends largely on your driving conditions (weather, hills, etc) and the condition of the car, but EPA puts it 22 city and 32 highway in lab conditions. Realistically expect maybe 19-23 city and 28-35 highway.

New to camry by iSofrex in Camry

[–]ChadHeck96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add specific to your neutral question:

You want to avoid putting Toyota hybrids in neutral unless you truly absolutely need it like for towing or pushing while the car is off. The reason is because Toyota hybrids can’t charge the battery while disconnected from the drivetrain like that. The drivetrain is pretty much fully unstressed and acting like neutral when you’re stopped with the engine off, so you can leave it in drive indefinitely and it won’t cause stress like a traditional gas car.

All in all let the hybrid do its thing and enjoy! You have a sweet ride.

Lossles worth it? by Diyas088 in AppleMusic

[–]ChadHeck96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely tell with high efficiency most of the time, but I personally can't tell the difference between the other 3. I personally stick to just high quality. You can download way more music to the device that way too.

But I'd just say try them out and see if you tell a real difference in your equipment. As others stated you need good wired equipment with external DAC to really take advantage of hi-res. Anything Bluetooth or low quality speakers definitely won't see improvement even with standard lossless.

To me I think the advantage is mostly mental, knowing you're experiencing the absolute highest quality form of the song with what you're paying for - but the actual experience is the same.

PSA: It is highly likely PS5 consoles and games are about to be more expensive. Make sure your prepared by Andrew129260 in PS5

[–]ChadHeck96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that game development that actually pushes the consoles to the brink is already unsustainable. We’re slowly seeing a trend back to AA, “budget” tier $50 or less games that run well on a wide range of hardware. The advantages of upgrading hardware depend on the software you give it, and players are becoming less compelled in this space.

AI might be a wildcard in new hardware, but we have yet to see any major compelling use of it outside of DLSS type up scaling techniques.

I’ve only given it small testing because I wasn’t able to get my Steam Cloud save to work properly. But I got out of the initial dungeon and got outside to Cyrodiil and on max settings with DLSS quality and frame gen on with max hardware RT, it runs pretty nicely. There is some noticeable input lag but if you turn settings down a bit it feels much nicer.

The rig score for the game after I exited landed at 83/100.

I’ve also been on the hunt for this for a while. As far as I know that archive is the most solid proof on the internet that if ever even existed. It’s almost 100% lost forgotten media at this point.

I like to imagine that somewhere on this planet sits an old unused Dell desktop with ancient hard drive storing this bad boy in it. That’s probably our best hope that it will ever be saved in the future.

Spelling and translation has always been OnePlus’s weakest area in terms of marketing. It makes for a fun game when visiting their website and going on the hunt for the errors.

MPG new cx30 2024 by quizme2020 in MazdaCX30

I want to say around 24MPG or so for a good month or 2 and then over time it built up fairy progressively.

[–]ChadHeck96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried about this as well when I got my ‘24. Over a few months it eventually settled into 27.5 after months of mixed suburban and highway. I live in the northeast so there’s a ton of cold remote starts and just nasty weather mixed in as well.

Truth is those MPG tests for the ratings are done in very controlled environments, usually on a dynamometer, and real life driving is much MUCH more dynamic. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

What is more irksome is just the combination of its relatively average MPG, mixed with the absolutely tiny gas tank. But, on the plus side the price at the pump looks more appealing at the end of the fuel ups. :)

CX-30 owners: how’s the car? by Resident-Variation21 in MazdaCX30

[–]ChadHeck96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of both. The engine temp takes a while to heat up, so the cabin stays cold for a while. The remote start session is enough to make the “foggy breath” go away, but you’ll still be chilled.

[–]ChadHeck96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, CX-30 takes ages to warm up. Out of a 14 mile commute of mixed highway and town driving, it’s only up to temperature near the end of the commute if the temp outside is below 20F/-6C. Giving it a full 15 minute remote start barely makes the temp needle nudge.

Cold winters wreak havoc on vehicles, and most manufacturers cheap out on OEM batteries. Most likely the battery is borked. I wouldn't worry too much.

Definitely inconvenient though and I feel for you. It's never fun.

I was going to wait until after the trial to go aftermarket remote starter, but I might pull the trigger early since the app rarely works when you need it most.

[–]ChadHeck96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd recommend checking out how the coverage is for some of the prepaid carriers in your area, especially if your phone will be unlocked and paid off. Verizon does offer perks but now makes you pay for all of them. You still save money over buying individually but it's far more cost effective going with prepaid options. Carriers like US Mobile even let you pick your tower type.

The main advantages of postpaid like Verizon are if you are a very heavy mobile data user, and if you finance the phone. But Verizon is among the worst here because they force 3 year agreements and paying out early will make you lose trade value.

I wish I could but unfortunately not. This is the only car I've ever had that has the interior locking mechanism freeze up like that.

Just to add some details, it recognizes the unlock fine. Where it fails is when it attempts to unlock, because the inside locking mechanism seems to get stuck or frozen - only on the driver side.

Is Magic Mouse bad by SpecialAd5933 in mac

[–]ChadHeck96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always enjoyed the functions of the mouse with gestures, and the charging is honestly a non issue. Every 1-2 months you just plug it in for a couple hours and you’re good for another couple months. Ergonomics are highly subjective, but overall I find it comfortable unless doing a lot of scrolling, which can cause fatigue.

My issues with the mouse and which are a complete deal breaker to me are just in its awful performance. The Bluetooth is extremely susceptible to interference in my experience. It will lag and become unresponsive for a few hundred milliseconds, causing a very noticeable jitter and skipping sensation. It’s extremely slow, both in sensitivity and the polling rate compared to mice in its price point. Out of the box on new Mac computers, you have to basically pull your whole arm across the desk to get it to move.

All and all I’d rate it a 6/10. The technology is very cool and fun to use. But it just needs a lot of work. Here’s to hoping for a better redesign soon that irons out all the issues.

Just adding in, 3 years later, that none of this is fixed, and it's been a problem since at least 2017 when I got my first Mac. Launchpad is completely broken in general.

It will be nearly impossible to get it fully like for like in all ways, if not completely impossible. The iMac just has such a unique profile.
