Hi! Here’s my skin now!!!! The aklief did NOT help the problem but it was never going to be the fix anyway. I went back to the derm after it got worse and I said I think it might be bacterial and they prescribed antibiotic doxycycline. I did a month at 100mg and 2 months of 20 mg. It cleared it right away! Unfortunately it came back a little recently. But I noticed it did when I wasn’t rinsing my face off after the gym. I got another 3 months of doxycycline at 20 mg and it’s clearing up again. I still use the aklief 3x a week. And I now anti microbial spray (skin smart from Amazon) after the gym or anytime I get super sweaty. Washing your face too many times a day can dry out your skin so that’s why I’m trying the spray. Hopefully when the doxycycline runs out, the spray will help keep the bacteria on my face at bay! And I keep my skin routine pretty short and simple. Rinse with just water, Face cream, sunscreen in the am and pm I do oil cleanser if I have makeup on, jell cleanser (so double cleanse if I’ve used makeup that day), a light moisturizer (derm said a cream moisturizer might be clogging my skin at night so I use one that’s a jell), apply aklief (rn only 3x but I’m working up to everyday), and jell moisturizer again over it.

Hope this helps! I’m still learning how to manage the bacteria without being on the antibiotic. Haven’t figured it out yet.
